AB:I wish that no one else ever has a wish granted.
DIK:Now, that’s a bit mean, Amanda. Why do we have to forgo our wishes?
AB:Because you might wish me dead.
DIK:Not before the end of the podcast. After that do you have a third wish?
AB:No, because I already have an endless supply of wishes and can use them at my leisure.
DIK:Do you free the genie?
AB:Yes. Why not?
DIK:Because … once he’s free he will reveal himself to be, not a genie, but ademon. You have freed a demon to walk the earth.
AB:Well, I write about evil events. It can only be good for business.
[Laughter. Disproportionate, IMO. EC]
DIK:So, Amanda, you’ve written about the murders of Jill Dando, Rachel Nickell and Suzy Lamplugh. What’s next for you?
AB:The case of the Alperton Angels.
DIK:Awesome. In my opinion not one that’s been properly covered, don’t know what you think …
AB:It’s not an easy one to research. There seems to be a mysterious cloak of secrecy around the case. [Amanda Bailey, are you trying to fan the embers of a conspiracy theory? EC]
DIK:I was only thirteen at the time, but I remember hearing about it. Do you think the lack of, um, documentary investigation – by that I mean journalism, books, TV, etc. – do you think that points to a conspiracy?
AB:It could. But I don’t know what that could be.
DIK:I’ve got a theory, well two theories. We’re looking at, one: a cover-up of professional failings; or two: a cover-up of supernatural phenomena that would create panic if it were to get out.
AB:Well, that’s what I hope to find out, Dave. Can your listeners help?
