Ashleigh nods thoughtfully.

ASHLEIGH

What’s his name?

HOLLY

Gabriel.

Ashleigh nods, her expression unreadable. O.S. THE BABY screams in the room above. Ashleigh’s expression changes.

ASHLEIGH

Oh my God.

She stares in disbelief at Holly. Holly looks desperately to the stairs. She turns back to the window but Ashleighis gone. She dashes out. The kitchen is empty as Holly’s footsteps pound up the stairs.

INT. UPSTAIRS ROOM, DERELICT HOUSE – DAY

Holly darts to the Moses basket …

INT. KITCHEN, DERELICT HOUSE – DAY – LATER

Holly creeps in, the Baby in her arms. Small random NOISES as it settles. She rocks it, gently, peers out of the window, cranes her neck all around. Nothing. No one. Her eyes fall on something. The kitchen door. She turns the handle. LOCKED.

INT. FRONT ROOM, DERELICT HOUSE – DAY – LATER

Holly sits in a pool of sunlight on the bare floorboards, cuddles the Baby. The door falls open. Jonah. He’s been there for some time. Holly sees his censorious expression.

HOLLY

I’m getting it to sleep.

Jonah moves to the window, peers out at the hedge. Holly glances to the door, lowers her voice.

HOLLY

Do they take the demon out or destroy the whole baby?

JONAH

That’s not for us to know.
