“Everything okay?” he asked and slid to my side.
“I’m good. You?”
He grinned. “Better than good. I feel a little lightheaded.”
“I feel like I just popped your cherry,” I teased.
“I think you did. Is there some rule about virginity? Like if you don’t have sex for a year, you’re essentially a virgin again?”
“I don’t know, but there should be. I feel very honored I got to be your first.”
“Thanks for being gentle,” he said, laughing. “Except my shoulders.” He twisted his head to look at one very broad shoulder. The move stretched the muscles across his chest. My mouth practically watered at the sight of the naked man. “Am I bleeding?” he asked.
“Very funny, and no,” I replied unashamed.
“Should I go?” he asked.
“Not if you don’t want to,” I replied softly.
“I don’t want to.”
We pulled back the blankets and snuggled up against each other. I was not going to think about the implications of having sex with what was basically my boss. I had all day tomorrow to worry about that.

CANE
Iwoke with a start. My first thought was that a very large breast was pushed against my chest. I had almost forgot what it felt like to touch boobs. For about a millisecond, Kelly came to mind. The thought vanished as fast as it had appeared. It wasn’t Kelly. To make sure I hadn’t made the whole thing up in some wild erotic fantasy, I opened my eyes.
A mass of long, blonde hair was spread out over my arm and onto the pillow beside my own. Noelle’s face rested on my shoulder. Her arm was thrown across my waist and that one beautiful boob was snug against my chest. My fingers were tingling, on the verge of having the circulation completely cut off. I wiggled them and very carefully moved under her. The weight of her head was shifted to my chest. Blood immediately started pumping through my arm again.
I had had sex. That was not something I had expected to happen on the trip. Ever, really. I had really thought I was headed for monkhood. The woman I finally gave it up to was the one woman I probably shouldn’t have had sex with. She was a business partner. An employee. This was an arrangement. Sex was not on the table. Was I supposed to pay her extra for that? Wouldn’t that offend her?
Hell, yes, it would offend her. I couldn’t offer her money. That would be way fucked up. Was I supposed to apologize? That didn’t feel right either. I supposed I could say I was drunk, and I let my hormones get away from me. I dismissed that excuse as well. I didn’t want her to think I was sorry or ashamed. If I was, she would be and that would make everything really weird. I still needed her to be my fake fiancée. I looked down at the hand splayed across my stomach. She was still wearing the ring.
I had a feeling I had complicated things. That was not what I wanted to happen. We had been getting along well. I felt comfortable with her. I had told her more about my life in a single day than I had told anyone in years. She was very easy to talk to. I didn’t get the feeling she was judging me. It was nice to talk to someone that wasn’t Denton.
But I didn’t want her to think this meant anything. Getting out of her bed was the best course of action, I decided. I very carefully removed my arm from under her and scooted away. I placed her head on the pillow and rolled away. I pulled on my underwear and pants and hung my shirt over my arm. I only had to make it across the hall.
“Sneaking out?” she asked.
I turned around to look at her sleepy face. “No. I mean, I was, but only because I thought I would let you sleep a bit longer.”
“I’m up,” she said with a yawn.
She wasn’t acting weird. Maybe we could just pretend it never happened. I was good with that. I walked back to her and sat on the edge of the bed. She pulled the sheet over her chest. “Do you want to get breakfast?”
“Yes.”
“I’m going to take a quick shower,” I told her. “We can go down or I can order room service.”
“Room service sounds good,” she said.
“I’ll be back in an hour,” I said. Then the awkward hit. Did I kiss her? Touch her? Were we back to normal? I decided to err on the side of caution and got up from the bed once again.
I walked out and to my room. My phone was vibrating even as I walked through the door. Last night, I had no idea what I was going to do. I certainly had not meant to crash in her room. I grabbed my phone and saw it was Denton. “What?” I answered.
“Where have you been?” he asked.
