“Listen, Gabriel, Ace is mad right now. He has got a lot going on inside of him, and he needs time to deal with all of that in his own time. He might say he doesn’t want to talk to you now, but you don’t know how he feels in a week or two or maybe a month. Give him the time he needs, and you will see he will find his way home,” I told him.
Gabriel smiled, looking a little more relieved.
“You think so?”
I nodded.
“And if not, then trust that I won’t be going anywhere. I am still here, and you can’t scare me away,” I said.
He leaned closer and kissed me.
“You have no idea what you mean to me. I can’t describe it with words,” he whispered against my lips before he kissed me harder.
Chapter 35

"Okay, ease a little on the gas!" Gabriel chuckled beside me, as we drove around on the road in front of the house.
I couldn't stop myself from pressing a little hard on the gas, because I wanted to go faster and faster and faster. It was just so much fun, and I couldn't wait until I actually knew how to drive on my own. That was going to be a fantastic feeling when I didn't need guidance.
"Why?!" I laughed.
"Because I don't want my mate to die in a car crash!"
"I will heal!"
"Valeri!"
"Fine!" I said and eased a little on the gas, while we drove around.
I loved this. It was an amazing feeling. Almost like I was just free to go anywhere. I knew it was a little silly to think, but it truly felt like I could go anywhere in this car. I had never tried feeling like this, and when I went to park the car, I had barely even turned it off or put it in park, before I unbuckled my seatbelt and was right on Gabriel, kissing him hard and straddling him.
"Wow, my little mate, what has gotten into you?" he chuckled.
I kissed him hard again, my hands going to his pants right away, while he started to kiss my neck and run his hands all over me.
"I need you," I panted.
I couldn't help myself. Gabriel had changed me and made me feel stronger. I had no idea how he had done it so fast, but it was amazing, and I knew he would only make me feel better and better as time went on. I wanted to spend my life with him. There was no doubt, but just as I had opened his pants, I noticed lights coming our way ... car lights.
"What the ..."
I froze and Gabriel looked over his shoulder, watching as a car parked a little further away from us. We both looked at it curiously, not sure who it could be, but then suddenly the driver got out, and I felt my heart freeze in my chest.
My brother ...
"What's Damon doing here?" Gabriel asked.
I turned to him, and Gabriel looked at me, and it was like he could read the answer in my eyes.
"Did you even call him?" he asked me.
I bit my lower lip, knowing the truth was out.
"Valeri!"
I shook my head.
