“And I will be,” I said.

“Good, then let us get going.”

“What?”

“We are going over there, so you two can talk,” he said. “Figure it all out.”

“Damon …”

I almost wanted to cry, but then my brother grabbed my hand and led me out of the house again, and I couldn’t even focus on crying, so happy and excited I was. I just hoped it was really true. I hoped Gabriel was truly all in because I was.

Chapter 49

-Gabriel-

Damon spoke the truth. Not long after he had left, he came back with Valeri. I was still in the same living room as they walked inside, and he pulled his sister over to where I was sitting on a couch. He turned her and then made her sit down. I smiled a little, finding it funny how Damon, who had pulled us apart, was now bringing us back together again.

“Talk. Figure it out. I will start having your things packed,” he said.

“Packed?!” Valeri asked.

“You’re moving in.”

“I am?!”

She turned to me and I smiled, scooting closer to her and leaning closer to kiss her because I had missed the taste of her so much.

“No!” Damon said, and I froze, turning to him. “One rule. Don’t ever let me see anything like that. No public display of affection in front of me.”

I smiled and nodded.

“Then you better leave,” I told him.

Damon sighed, but then turned to his sister and smiled before he finally left the room. I turned to Valeri beside me, feeling like I was seeing her for the first time again. She enchanted me right away, and I knew she had to be mine. She was watching me a little scared almost, probably wondering what I might be thinking. Oh, my sweet little mate.

“I have missed you so much,” I said, and finally leaned close enough to kiss her.

She moaned sweetly and it was enough to almost push me over the edge, but Damon was right, there were some things we needed to talk about.

“Gabriel…” she whispered as I pulled away, almost like she was begging me not to.

“You’re so beautiful,” I said.

She smiled, blushing a little.

“And you’re going to look just as beautiful pregnant,” I said.

She suddenly lost her smile and looked down. It confused me, and I grabbed her chin gently, turning her head and getting her to face me again.

“What?” I asked.

“You want this? Like truly?” she asked.

“There is nothing more I want,” I told her.
