“So is that milkshakeorgasmic?” I asked my friends before I took another bite of my own.

“Close,” Maylee said.

Jenn, Brea, and Blue didn’t say anything but nodded. Pandora asked, “Why do the two of you keep saying orgasmic like it’s something important?”

“This deli is famous for a classic movie scene,” I hinted. All eyes turned to me as Frankie and Bernadette grinned.

After a few seconds, they all started looking around the deli, but Jenn was the first person to figure it out. Blue was right behind her. I knew they had realized what movie I was talking about when they threw their heads back and had very loud, very realistic fake orgasms, sitting right there at the table with all the guys, surrounded by strangers.

“What. In. The. Fuck?” Preacher hissed as he stared at Blue like she was crazy.

Boss frowned. “That isnotwhat you sound like.”

“That’s a scene from the movieWhen Harry Met Sally,” Jenn explained. “Billy Crystal says that he’d know if a woman was faking her orgasm so she fakes one right there in the middle of the diner to prove him wrong.”

“Women can just turn it on and off like that?” Preacher asked.

“Oh honey,” Blue said as she reached out and rested her hand on Preacher’s cheek. “I can honestly say I’ve never done that withyou.”

Boss was staring at Jenn and Captain was studying Matalie’s face when Hook leaned over and said, “Let me hear what a fake one sounds like.”

“You might already know,” I retorted. Hook immediately scowled, and I couldn’t help but laugh. “I’m just kidding. You know I enjoy it every time.”

“There was that one time when . . .”

“I had a lot on my mind and you put in a good effort,” I reassured him. “At least I didn’t fake it, right?”

“How often do women do that?” Preacher asked.

“You mean other women besides the ones at the table who I amsurehave never?” I asked.

“Man, I wish Maylee were here for this conversation,” Blue said with a laugh. “She’d probably have a statistic or two.”

“I think we should change the subject,” Matalie suggested. Captain stared at her with wide eyes, and she shrugged before she reassured him, “For their benefit. I’ve got nothing to hide, Gus.”

“So!” Frankie said cheerfully. “Who wants to . . .”

“Do it again,” Preacher insisted just as Chef told Brea, “You do one.”

“I want to hear what your fake one sounds like,” Santa told Frankie.

“But you know what mine sounds like,” Frankie said without skipping a beat. When Santa’s face dropped, Frankie specified, “The real one! You know what the real one sounds like! I’ve never faked it. With you. I’ve never faked it with you!”

Just to rescue my friend, I ran my hand over my throat and then grabbed my hair on the side of my head before I moaned loudly. Blue chimed in with a moan, right before Brea did the same. Jenn started in, too, and then Matalie added one of her own. Finally, Frankie joined us, and we did our best to tear the roof off the place with our breathy moans and fake exclamations.

“Excuse me,” an older woman at a table nearby said after we’d let our shenanigans die down. I glanced over at the smiling lady and watched her stop the waitress who was walking past only to say, “I’ll have what they’re having.”

The waitress rolled her eyes so hard I was sure it hurt. Everyone at our table roared with laughter along with the woman and her friend. Within the next minute, we struck up a conversation with the two and chatted while we finished our desserts.

“All of you came from Texas for a wedding?” the woman who’d introduced herself as Janna asked.

When we nodded, Matalie pointed at Frankie and Santa with her spoon and said, “They’re getting hitched.”

The next few minutes were spent discussing wedding plans, and I noticed that Lisa, Janna’s friend, was studying Stamp. She finally asked, “Are you fromRusso’s Road Trip,by chance?”

Stamp nodded and the women got excited as they asked for a picture with him.

“It’s so funny that they recognize him from TV and have no idea about his history or anything,” Hook said as he leaned closer to me.
