That reality crashed over my mind, body, and soul. My vision dimmed and my heart stopped, as if crushed by the weight of it all.

Those ice cold eyes of his. . .warmed. “Mariah. . .”

A swirl of emotion swirled through my chest, every fiber of my being ached for him.

I swallowed. “I. . .feel the same way.”

That wicked grin spread on his face. “Do you now?”

He wrapped his arms around me and kissed me with a fierceness. We lost ourselves in each other, finding only love and need.

And I knew without a doubt that I was his.

He pulled away. “Tell me.”

I panted. “Tell you what?”

“Tell me that you’ll stay here with me. Regardless of the number of days. Regardless of rationale. Regardless of your feelings. Regardless of everything.”

My heart hammered in my chest. “I want to say yes. I’m just scared. This is a big step.”

“Big or small step. You’re mine. I won’t let you go.” He slipped his hand over my clit, his finger touching me just enough to drive me insane. “I would rather youwantto be here, but I’ll keep you regardless.”

I writhed in desire. “Gabriel, you can’t say it that way.”

“Why not?” He moved his finger.

“Because I want to be with someone who loves and treats me like a gentleman. Which means. . .no kidnapping.”

“Due to my life,” He gave me a sad smile. “I might be hard to love—”

“Don’t say that.”

“There is truth to that statement, Mariah, but. . .I promise to do my best to love you the way you deserve.”

“Okay.” I let out a long breath. “Then, I will think about your proposal.”

The wicked grin deepened. He toyed with my clit. “Think about it?”

I moaned.

Then something unexpected happened.

A sudden violent explosion shook the concrete walls and foundation. Next, the fierce noise of gunshots echoed.

Gabriel gritted his teeth. “Savio.”

I heard men shouting.

“What the fuck?!” Fast, Gabriel spun around. “No! Not now! Not here!”

My body went tight with terror.

Another explosion rocked the foundation. Cracks appeared in the walls surrounding us.

“Goddamn it! Not now!” Gabriel grabbed his robe and threw it on his body. “You will be safe down here. No one knows about this place, but Dog and me—”

“You have to untie me.”
