This door led to an outside deck with an infinity pool.
I stepped outside and realized that Gabriel’s place was built on the edge of a cliff. If I climbed over the glass walls surrounding the deck—which looked damn near impossible to do—I still would have to somehow climb down jagged rocks to get to the community gate where I hoped to get some help.
My spirits sank.
Defeated, I lowered to the ground. The stone was warm under my fingers.
Am I really stuck here?
I didn’t know how long I sat near the pool.
After a while, Dog appeared with Chinese food in gold and black cartons—lobster fried rice with stir-fried vegetables.
I ate, knowing that I needed the energy.
Hours later, the sky darkened and there was no sign of Gabriel. Still, I refused to go back into his condo.
Instead, I remained out on his pool deck and eventually fell asleep on the warm stone.
* * * * *
The next morning, Iwoke up, naked, and in that massive red bed.
“What?” Frantic, I sat up, yanked the covers over my bare breasts, and looked around the empty room. “How did I get in here, and who took my clothes?”
The door opened.
Gabriel stood in the doorway, appearing even more gorgeous than yesterday. His black silk pajamas hung low on his muscular waist, showing off a chiseled V. His hair was tussled as if he just finished having sex.
In his big hand, he held a small box wrapped in gold paper.
Gabriel curved his lips into that signature wicked smile. “Finally, you are up, and the games can begin.”
“Games?” I waved my hand. “Listen. I am not a—”
“I know.” Gabriel prowled my way. “You are an accountant.”
“Exactly.” I pointed at him. “Which means that I would be a really bad lay.”
He stopped next to the bed. Danger and sex radiated off him. “Why would you be bad?”
“Listen.” I scooted in the opposite direction. “I can’t even have orgasms with a guy, which is probably why it hasn’t been that important for me to date anymore.”
His wicked grin shifted to a devilish smirk. “So, there’s no man in your life?”
“Huh? No, but that’s not the focus.”
“It is to me. I don’t share—”
“Uh. Okay, but what I’m trying to say is—”
“You don’t cum at all?”
“Umm. . .well. . .I can make myself cum, but—”
“I would love to see that.” Hot lust filled his eyes. “And let’s make this clear, youwillcum with me.”
I let out an exasperated breath. “Gabriel.”
