“You can’t get everything you want.”
Lust filled his eyes. “Says who?”
“Says me.”
“Do you think you’re not mine?”
“I’m not.”
He hissed.
“And. . .” I looked away. Suddenly, I was ready to get the hell out of this rope. “You only want to make me yours forninety days. Then what, Gabriel?”
I turned my view back to him. “Then, you throw me away?”
He slipped his gaze down my naked body. “Perhaps, I’ll want another ninety days.”
“No.” I shook my head. “Twelve days of you and orgasms and all of this amazing stuff is okay. But, extending this for a set of time is only going to. . .”
He snapped his view to my face. “What?”
“Hurt me.”
His frown deepened. “I don’t want to hurt you.”
“Then, let me go.”
He put his fingers to my face and trailed the line of my jaw. “I can’t, Mariah. I’m addicted.”
Me too.
I moved my face out of his finger’s reach.
He sneered.
“If you’re addicted, ninety more days isn’t going to help.”
Scowling, he stepped back and crossed his arms over his chest. “You’re correct.”
I sighed. “Thank you for seeing reason.”
“You made a logical argument.”
“Good.”
“Therefore, you’ll stay forever.”
I tensed. “What?”
“Perhaps, I was a fool to think that I could ever let you go.” He touched his chest. “Deep inside my heart. . .I know I never want to say goodbye.”
I stood there, bound and speechless.
“I’m. . .falling in love with you, Mariah.”
Holy shit.
I couldn’t stop looking at him. The intensity of his feelings poured over me in a torrent of emotion. In that moment, I ignored logic. Sure he was dangerous and I had just met him, but. . .I was falling too.
