I hadn’t noticed that, but that would make sense. I look at Bullet. “I think you were right that there are more out there.”

“And it makes sense why none of us have been able to find them,” Viper adds. “From what you and Hammer said in Church, no one knew the locations except Bull, which means that we wouldn’t have any clue where they would have been.”

Bullet is quiet for a moment. “Then how did they find them?” he asks softly.

“Our mole probably,” I answer.

He looks at me, his expression grim. “Then how would our mole know? The only people that were around when Bull was alive are Hammer and me. And we know it’s not me.”

“You think our mole could be Hammer?” Viper asks quietly, frowning.

Bullet leans back in his chair. “The only other person who could know would be Hammer, but with the number of things going on, it doesn’t make sense to me. Hammer isn’t in the best of health, and for him to do the kinds of things that have been going on around here, not to mention trying to kill Izzy, I can’t see it. No way in hell could he climb a building and get through a window.”

“He could have someone helping him,” I say thoughtfully.

Bullet’s jaw flexes. “It’s possible. I need to talk to him.”

“You want one of us to be here when you do?” Viper asks him.

Bullet shakes his head. “I’ll do it. If it’s Hammer, then I need to finish what I started. No matter the cost.”

Viper and I exchange a look. Neither of us wants to think that Hammer is involved, but what else is there to go on? The question is, if it is him, will Bullet be able to exact the punishment that’s needed on his oldest friend?

TWENTY-SIX

DMITRI

I just need to be patient.

Isidor stands silent as he waits for me to process the information he’s just given me. “You are certain you saw them?” I ask him carefully.

“Da,” he answers, his accent thick and heavy. His dark eyes are flat and expressionless. Few men gain my respect, but he has. He is the top man to handle jobs where you want someone out of the way and you want it done right. Though it will cost me a pretty penny to have him here too long.

Not to mention, it will have gained Pavel’s suspicion.

“Which means that they have either discovered our mole, or they gave him the wrong information,” I say thoughtfully. “Did you have a shot to take them out?”

“I only saw them on the camera after I got there,” Isidor explains. “Pavel had questions before I could leave, making me late.” There’s no inflection in his voice or change in his expression, but it is clear he did not appreciate this. It cost him the chance to rid us of two problematic bikers.

“Did we ID them?”

“Shadow and Viper,” he answers. “Enforcer and Treasurer. The ones who run the security company.”

“And you said they found the vault?” I ask coldly.

He nods. “Cameras show they overlooked it at first, but then they found the hatch in the floor and opened it. Walked right in.”

“Did they see our people moving our product out?” He gives a curt nod. I don’t react, but internally, I’m seething. If they saw anything, then our people were not careful. A problem I will have to fix. Someone should have been watching.

“Have any other sites been discovered?”

“Not that we know of,” Isidor replies. “Is possible the mole told them.”

If so, my mole is of no more use to me. “Find out,” I order. “He has less than forty-eight hours to deliver the camera bitch and kill the other one. Let’s ensure he completes his task, and then I will leave him to you to handle.”

Isidor nods, turns on his heel, and walks out.

I ignore the urge to contact my mole, to let him know he fed us incorrect intel, but that could tip my hand. I wouldn’t want him to make any rash decisions now, would I? So instead, I’ll wait, and in forty-eight hours, I’ll be blowing that club off the face of the earth.
