“Shut up!” Win screamed at him, body vibrating with fury, adrenaline, and pain. “I always vowed I would kill you,” she told him. “For everything you and those bastards have done to us.”
“Win,” Rogue cautioned.
“No!” she screamed. “No, Rogue. I don’t give a shit if you want to save me. I deserve this. Wren deserves this. Scarlett deserves this. He deserves to die.”
“He does,” Rogue agreed. “But we need him alive right now, baby. Give me the gun and then you can have your shot later, okay?”
She was silent for a moment. “Are Scarlett and Wren dead?” she whispered.
“They’re alive, baby. Snake and Jax have them and are dealing with the others. Give me the gun, baby, and I’ll deal with this.”
“I don’t think so,” Slicer laughed, pulling another gun from his boot. Win stiffened and Rogue cursed under his breath.
Suddenly, like a blur, Karissa was behind him, stabbing him in the side with one of her knives and sending him sprawling before kicking the gun away from him. “Fucker,” she hissed down at the man. She looked over at Win. “Give Rogue the gun, Win,” she ordered.
Win stared at her, then slowly lowered the gun. Rogue quickly grabbed it, then hauled her into his arms and held her tight. “Are you alright?” he asked her, finally pulling her away. She nodded, unable to speak any more.
Then he moved, and headed for Slicer. “I’m going to enjoy killing you,” he told the man coldly. So coldly that Win shivered. She knew Rogue was dangerous, but this confirmed it.
“Win!” Scarlett cried, and Win whirled around, and saw Scarlett running towards her. Her face was still pale, her clothes torn and streaked with blood. Win didn’t think, she just ran to her and hugged her tight.
It was over, she thought. It was finally over.
CHAPTERFORTY
ROGUE
He stared at the man hanging in front of him. He battled back the urge to snap his neck. Kill him and be done with it. The man who had dared to point a gun at his woman; at his girls. The man who had done things to them that would forever haunt them. His fists clenched at his sides, and he fought back the darkness that threatened to overtake him. He needed to stay in control.
They needed answers, and they couldn’t get them from a dead man.
They had already dealt with the other men, and were now left with Club, Slicer, the goon that had been in the room with Tanya, and Tanya herself. She had been mostly quiet, but she got paler and paler with every man they disposed of. It gave him a perverse sense of pleasure. They were saving her for last, because if anyone had the information they needed, it was her.
Scarlett and the girls were upstairs, resting in the infirmary with Doc, and he was hoping they would sleep long enough for them to finish this interrogation. Doc had gotten Wren patched up, thankfully the knife hadn’t punctured anything important. Scarlett had a bullet graze on her arm, but it was superficial and Doc had assured him she would be fine.
Win was the one he worried about the most. She was silent, sullen, and mostly unhurt. Except for her bloodshot eyes and the purple bruises already circling her neck, she was physically alright. Doc had given them all something to help them relax for a while, but Rogue was itching to get back up there.
When he had run into the library, bullets already flying and bodies on the floor, his heart had almost stopped. Especially when he had heard the girls screaming, and couldn’t see Scarlett. When he found Snake with Scarlett, his heart had started beating again. He dealt with the few remaining men that were shooting before running to Scarlett. She insisted she was alright and begged him to get to the girls.
When he had seen Wren pale and bleeding on the floor, panic gripped him. Jax promised she was alright and Wren begged him to find Win. When he discovered Win with her gun pointed at Slicer, he felt relief and then worry took over. He knew she wanted to pull that trigger, and he had been so proud of her to see her standing there, no fear on her face. She had been ready to kill him then and there, but he couldn’t let her have more on her conscience.
They had all been through far too much.
So now, he and his brothers would get what they needed out of these fuckers, and then he would go back upstairs to be with his family. He would reassure himself that they were alright, and let them know they were safe. They would always be safe.
“You have a choice,” Savage said calmly as he looked between Slicer and Club, drawing Rogue back to the present. Both were bruised, bloodied, and showing signs of fatigue. Their hands and legs were bound by chains as they hung there, meaning there was no way for them to fight back. They had no choice but to take it. Steel and Ice stood next to a table full of instruments that even made Rogue a little wary.
There was a reason those two were their interrogators, and these men were about to be introduced to true pain.
“Fuck you,” Club ground out. Slicer was silent.
Savage ignored him. “Your choices are these. You tell us what we want to know and we give you a quick death. Because we all know you’re not leaving here alive. Or, you keep messing around and pissing us off, and we do whatever we have to to get you to tell us what we want to know.” He gave them a cold, cruel smile. “I think you already know which option I want you to choose.”
“I don’t think we should give them a choice,” Rogue said in a low voice. There was no mistaking the anger, or the violence, in those words. Both men looked over at him, and he saw the wariness there. It was brief, but it was enough for Rogue to know that they would break. It might take a bit ofpersuasion, but they would give them whatever they wanted to know.
Savage gave a humorless chuckle. “See, gentlemen, the thing you need to understand is that no matter what those two do to you,” he told them, pointing at Steel and Ice, “it’s nothing compared to whathewill do to you.” He jerked a thumb at Rogue. “See, it’s his woman and kids that you fucked with. That you did all kinds of evil things to. And trust me when I say that when I finally give him the okay to tear into you, everything that came before will be a cake walk.”
“I think we should just let Rogue at them anyway,” Fury drawled. “I need the entertainment.” There were murmurs of agreement through the room, but Rogue ignored them.
