“I will kick your ass,” Win vowed, sounding infuriated.

“You two have caused me a lot of trouble,” Slicer snarled at them, looking over her shoulder. “I’m going to enjoy teaching you a lesson before you go to your new home.”

“Oh, you mean, like how to be an asshole? Or do you mean how to slice a guy to ribbons and watch him bleed out?” Wren drawled darkly. “But you’ll rape us first, won’t you? You won’t care if you send damaged goods to whoever is waiting for us.”

“My instructions were to get you to him alive, but he didn’t say what kind of condition you needed to be in,” Slicer sneered. “You ask me, you’re a little too old for his tastes, but a man never lets what’s his get away. Especially not after he paid such a high price for you.”

“And just who is this man?” Win asked coldly.

“It doesn’t matter, because you’re not going anywhere,” Scarlett snarled, drawing Slicer’s attention back to her.

“Stupid whore,” Slicer sneered. “You really think you’re going to stop us? I have a whole team of men outside this place, and they’re ready to get out of here. You’re not getting out of here alive. If I didn’t have a deadline, I’d break you before I killed you, but this is boring me.”

Scarlett’s blood ran cold. What the hell was she going to do? She couldn’t call Rogue for help. Razor was out cold on the floor, possibly dead, or he would be when these guys left. She could feel the girls’ tension, but also their determination. They weren’t going to go easily, and she wasn’t either. If she had to die, then she was going to make sure she died fighting.

“You won’t be taking them,” she said fiercely.

He gave a cruel laugh. “You’ll be dead, so it won’t matter. Now, I’m tired of all this. Say goodbye, bitch, because you’ll never see them again.”

Scarlett braced for the bullet, even as her finger tightened on the trigger.

“Girls, now!” a sharp voice hollered out, and all hell broke loose.

CHAPTERTHIRTY-NINE

WIN

A few minutes earlier.

“What do you think he’s going to do?” Win asked her sister as she washed her hands in the sink next to hers.

Wren shrugged, unconcerned. “Whatever it is, I’m not going to worry about it. We both know he won’t do anything to hurt us, but he’ll definitely try and humiliate in some way. Though he doesn’t strike me as the type that will get his revenge right away. He’ll wait. But that means we have more time to plan our own attack,” she pointed out with a wicked grin.

Win snickered. She and her sister were rarely not on the same page, and when it came to Rogue, they were perfectly aligned.

She never would have thought that she would have been talking about a man Scarlett was dating. Even now, she was sometimes wary of men, but Rogue wasn’t like most. He was a bit of a grump-hole, but she could work around that. If he had been a selfish prick, well, she would have made sure that Scarlett dropped him like a hot potato.

What did that saying mean anyway, she wondered silently. She had heard Scarlett say it a couple of times, but she had no clue where she got it from. Why would someone hold a hot potato?

She pushed that thought out her mind and mentally rolled her eyes. Instead, she dried her hands and grinned at Wren. “I wonder when Razor and Karissa are going to stop dancing around each other. It’s obvious he wants her and she’s fighting it.”

“I don’t understand why people do that,” Wren sniffed. “If you want something, you go after it. Life’s too short.”

“You think that will ever be us?” Win wondered. It was a question on her mind a lot lately. Especially now that they were around all these hot bikers and saw the way they acted. Rogue wanted Scarlett and went after her. Win could admit she was envious of that. She wasn’t comfortable with boys or men, even the ones at school, so she couldn’t see herself pursuing any of them. Most of them wanted to stay home and play video games all day, and she had no patience for that. None had ever gone after her like it was their only focus.

She knew Wren was the same. It wouldn’t surprise her if they both ended up with men who were like the guys in the MC. Well, if she could stomach the idea of being close to a man. If not, she had already resolved herself to being happy on her own. She would be fine as long as she had Scarlett and Wren. Well, and Rogue. He’d be handy if some guy didn’t take the hint.

“Maybe,” Wren said carelessly. “I’m not worrying about it right now.”

Wren reached for the door, but let out a squeak of surprise when it burst open and Karissa rushed inside. She shut the door quickly behind her and Win immediately stiffened. The grim look on her face told her there was trouble. “They’re here,” she said tightly.

Karissa nodded, dark eyes bright with anger and fire. “They knocked Razor out. I need to get you out of here.”

“We’re not leaving Scarlett,” Wren growled fiercely. “We have our knives.”

“There is no way you can fight these guys off, girls,” Karissa snapped, careful to keep her voice low. “I need you to get out so I can save her.” She pulled a gun from her waistband to show them she was armed. Win immediately noticed that it wasn’t the only thing she had on her. She also had a couple knives strapped to her sides. “I will get her out of here, I promise.”

“No,” they both said firmly. “We need to create a diversion. There is no way they only sent one or two men.”
