“Cut the shit,” Rogue snarled at her, moving forward to tower over her.
“Mmmm, I see why she likes you,” Tanya purred, looking him over. “Damn, you’re a big one. I bet you have a big cock, too. I could have gotten a pretty penny for a man like you if I had gotten to you before her.”
He didn’t react to her words. Instead, he growled, “Where did he go?”
“Where did who go?”
“Slicer.”
“Ah, Slicer,” she sighed happily. “He’s something isn’t he? Have you seen his work? Magnificent.” This woman was off her rocker, he thought furiously. He didn’t abuse women, but this woman, well, he was about to make an exception. “You know,” Tanya went on, stepping back and leaning against the small table behind her, “he’s always had this thing for being able to keep everyone in line. I mean, a man in his line of work has to, after all. Though, I’m sure your girl knows all about that, doesn’t she?”
“You fucking bitch,” Savage seethed, stepping forward.
“Now, now,” she tsked, but her smile took on a hard edge. Rogue didn’t take his eyes away from her. She was up to something, and he wasn’t about to let her get away with it. “Is that any way to speak to a lady?”
“More like the devil,” Trax drawled behind them. Rogue could hear him and Fury moving around, and he assumed that they were making sure that the two men were restrained.
“How about we start with you telling us what the hell you’re doing here, and why I shouldn’t kill you where you stand?” Savage snarled, pulling his gun and aiming it right at the woman’s forehead.
She didn’t even flinch. Rogue had the feeling it wasn’t her first time. “You really think I’m going to tell you?” she laughed. “Gentlemen, you really are stupid. This is why women get all the brains, because men wouldn’t know what to do with them. You think you just bust your way in here and that’s the end of it?” Then she lost her smile, her hand moved quickly under the lip of the table, and she raised a gun towards them.
Rogue didn’t even flinch. Instead, he reached out and grabbed her by the wrist so tight that she screamed in pain and dropped the gun. Savage kicked it away, and Rogue quickly turned Tanya around, wrenching her arm behind her. He didn’t care if he hurt her, and paid no attention when she cried out again. “Where is he?” he hissed through clenched teeth.
“And what are you doing here in this hotel?” Savage demanded.
Before she could answer, Fury cursed. Rogue looked over his shoulder at him, and he froze. Fury stood by one of the suite doors, now open. Inside were two women, chained, and obviously drugged on the floor. Both were skin and bones, and he wondered if they were alive.
“Check the other room,” Savage ordered. He looked back at Tanya. “I can’t wait to kill you.”
Tanya didn’t look startled at that proclamation. Instead, she laughed. “You really think you’re going to kill me? You don’t know who you’re messing with. But you’ll figure it out soon. I just hope I’m around when you realize you couldn’t save them.”
Rogue’s blood ran cold. “What did you do?” he hissed, wrenching her arm up higher.
She hissed, and he didn’t care if he broke her arm. He was going to get his answer. Everything in him told him he needed to get to Scarlett and the girls.Now. “Did you really think it was only the three of us?” Tanya sneered. “The Governor wants the girls he paid for, and I’m not about to let them get away. Hope you said goodbye, biker, because you’re never going to see them again.”
Rogue cursed. “Code,” he snapped.
“I can’t get a hold of Razor,” Code said grimly.
Rogue looked at Savage. Savage nodded. “Go. We’ll deal with them and meet you there.”
Rogue shoved Tanya at Savage, and rushed from the room.
CHAPTERTHIRTY-EIGHT
SCARLETT
“So what do you do for fun around here, exactly?” Razor asked conversationally as he leaned against the librarian’s desk. He looked perfectly at ease, even though his eyes were continually scanning for trouble.
Wren and Win were behind the counter with her, helping set up for the day. Thankfully with their help, it would make things go faster. With everyone else out on vacation, it usually meant she had hours of extra work, but today she would hopefully get everything done quickly and could try and work on a few other things she had been planning on.
After this, I need a vacation, she thought to herself. Making a mental note to put in for some time after everyone got back next week, she finished putting away the last few books on the cart in front of her. She would have Win and Wren help her put them away soon.
“What, you’re bored already?” Scarlett teased Razor.
Razor smirked. “I’m surrounded by three beautiful women, I’d never be bored,” he said with a wink.
Wren and Win rolled their eyes, while Scarlett chuckled. “He does know that Rogue will kill him for hitting on you, right?” Win said drily to Scarlett in response.
