She was silent for a moment, before she nuzzled against his chest and murmured, “I know. I hate it too. I hate it for them, especially. So far they’re fine, but the damage they suffered wasn’t small, Rogue. It took a long time for them to heal and I need to make sure they’re okay. Would you trust Doc to look after them?”

“Yes,” he said without hesitation. “Doc’s a good brother. A good man. He won’t treat them with anything other than respect. Or you. I just don’t like the thought of another man seeing what’s mine, or the girls in that way.”

“And the girls may not be okay with it, but that’s up to them. I won’t ever tell them who they need to trust their health to,” she said firmly. “They need that control, and if they feel comfortable with Doc, then I’ll be right there with them. If they don’t, then I’ll keep taking them to the clinic in town.”

“Okay,” he sighed. He was quiet for a moment, his mind spinning. It wasn’t fair that the twins had to deal with this shit. It only made him that much more determined to find these assholes and make sure they never touched anyone ever again. He was going to enjoy killing them. And making them suffer before they died. “We’re going to find them, Scarlett,” he murmured.

“If anyone will, it’s you, Rogue,”she whispered sleepily.

He eased down into the bed, shutting off the light on the nightstand and plunging the room into darkness. He’d find them, he vowed. And then he would spend the rest of his days showing Scarlett and the girls what good men were, and that they would always be safe with him and his club.

CHAPTERTHIRTY-ONE

ROGUE

He was in hell. Utter hell.

If anyone had bothered to warn him that the antichrist would make his appearance in the form of two teenage girls and their guardian, well, he would probably have made a few different decisions. Like not fucking being here when they woke up. Even now, he could still hear the screeching and arguing of the girls this morning when they had woken up and Win got to the bathroom before Wren.

Scarlett, unfortunately, had been in the other bathroom, which meant Wren had lost her shit. Especially when both women didn’t come out quickly. When he had tried to tell her to calm down as she started screaming at Win through the bathroom door, he had felt a sliver of unease run through him when she oh-so-slowly turned her head and stared at him with crazed eyes and told him to shut the fuck up. That was followed by a far too detailed description of just what was happening to her body, and how if he wanted to experience it, he could keep talking.

Caution and self-preservation had him biting back his retort, and instead, he had gone into the bedroom to figure out what the hell to do. Unfortunately for him, Scarlett had opened the bedroom door looking pissed and annoyed, and had marched straight out to the girls to tell Wren to use the now-open bathroom before she lost her shit.

When he had asked her if she was alright, her head had done the same creepy Exorcist move, and she answered, “You’re about to have three women cramping, bleeding, and moody for the next week, so it would be best if you just don’t talk to us this morning.” He had blinked at her, then turned and left the apartment for the safety of the garage.

He refused to say he was hiding. More like preserving his balls and sanity. He had been around enough of the club girls and the Old Ladies to know that no matter how intimidating he was, this time of the month, he was by far the least worrisome person on the compound.

“What the hell are you doing here?” Razor demanded as he and Jax stepped into the garage through the open bay door. “We working weekend hours now?”

Rogue gave him a cool look. “Got shit to work on,” he said calmly, grabbing the wrench he had set aside.

“Figured you would still be all cozied up with your new family,” Jax smirked. “Or did Scarlett wise up and kick your ass out already?”

“No,” he snapped at him with a glare.

Neither man looked like they believed him, but thankfully didn’t push it and left the shop, talking about their plan to get out on their bikes and start hunting down the assholes they were looking for. Rogue would gladly join them, but the repair project he’d started was one that couldn’t be paused. He was planning on going as soon as he was free, though. He wasn’t about to let his brothers have all the fun.

He focused on the task at hand, but his thoughts kept straying to Scarlett and their night together. It had been hot as hell, and afterwards he was surprised to learn he liked sleeping with her, too. It was something he’d never done before. Wrapped around each other, her back to his front and his cock nestled against her ass, he’d slept soundly. Used to only getting a few hours, having a night of uninterrupted sleep was new to him.

When he had woken up this morning, he had started to rouse Scarlett for another round before the girls woke up, and because he needed her again, but she had stopped him with an odd look on her face and got up to head to the bathroom. When she had finally emerged, it had been to yell at the girls, and he realized his plans for the morning were shot.

Well, he had suggested to Scarlett that they did have a shower they could use, but she had, in no uncertain terms, told him to fuck off with that idea.

This, thiswas why he never dealt with women if he could help it. The hormones and shit, he didn’t have the patience or time for. Yet here he was, hiding out in his damn garage and trying to stay the fuck out of the way. Something told him that if he didn’t, they would probably stab him or castrate him. No thanks.

He heard footsteps and lifted his head to see Savage, Fury, and Steel all walking towards him. He scowled at them as he pointed at Savage and snarled, “I swear to Christ that I hope you have nothing but girls.” Savage glared at him. Fury and Steel snickered until Rogue turned his frosty gaze on them. “You think you’re off the hook? No fucking way. I hope you all have a bunch of them, because I’m not dealing with this shit alone.”

“Already told you, I’m fine with girls,” Fury said with a careless shrug.

“I’m having a boy, and I plan on keeping any more we have that way,” Steel said with a smirk.

“I’m having boys too,” Savage said, but there was a lack of conviction in his voice.

“What’s got you all riled up this morning? Did Scarlett kick your ass out?” Fury asked.

Rogue glared at him. “Why does everyone assume she kicked me out?” he demanded. “Can’t a man do his fucking job without everyone assuming he’s been kicked out?”

“If it was anyone other than you, sure,” Savage sneered. “You’re not exactly Mr. Warm and Fuzzy. Not much of a stretch that you pissed them off.”
