“But he wanted them when they were twelve, which means maybe he thinks they’re too old now, so why bother?” Ink said quietly. “Sick fuck needs to be put down, but chances are with bastards like these, they like an age range, and once they’re out of that range, they move on to the next target.”
If that was the case, then Rogue was severely grateful that the girls were now fifteen. Even if they were pains in the ass.
“Even if that asshole doesn’t want them anymore, whoever ran that operation might still want them,” Fury pointed out grimly. “Get back the ones that got away. He could just be getting better at hiding his location and intentions.”
“Would the girls or Scarlett recognize faces?” Code asked.
Rogue shrugged. “Scarlett might not because she said they kept her pretty drugged up, but the girls might. Don’t really want to ask them that, though.” Just the thought of seeing the pain and horror on their faces like last night made him want to punch something. Again.
“I don’t think we should ask them that,” Savage put in. “But if they recognize one of them, at least they would have a chance to get away.”
“You think they’ll track them here?” Frost asked with a tight pull of his lips.
“I think it’s a strong possibility,” Savage said finally. “These rings never operate in only one city. It’s only a matter of time before someone spots them, or gets close to them without being recognized. The last thing I want is any kind of trafficking in our town. They try to take one woman here, or God forbid, our women, we’re going to show them what happens when they mess with the Dragons MC. They’ll burn before they meet their maker.”
There was a roar and cheer of agreement. Of solidarity.
“I’m already working on running through names and profiles of people in and around our area that have any known connection to trafficking rings,” Code put in. “We can keep an eye on them and make sure they’re not already doing anything shady.”
“We should also check to see if any women or children have gone missing around here in the last couple of years,” Steel suggested.
Code nods. “I’ll add that to my search criteria.”
Rogue was pleased that his brothers were taking this seriously. It served as a reminder to him that no matter what, they always had his back. And now, they had Scarlett and the girls’ too. He just hoped that it would never come to them needing it.
“So are you claiming Scarlett as your Old Lady?” Ink asked curiously.
Rogue said nothing for a moment. “As far as I’m concerned, she is,” he answered finally. “But with everything in the past twenty four hours, we haven’t discussed it. She and the girls know little about club life, and while I think they’ll fit in just fine, they’re not going to be as open about it.”
Everyone nodded. “The girls will welcome them,” Savage predicted.
“Karissa and Esme already have, and I think Harlow and Royal met Scarlett at the library at some point,” Fury added.
“Lord help us,” Jax said under his breath. A few brothers chuckled.
“The girls have been taking combat and weapons training,” Rogue pointed out. “Scarlett has no idea, but I’m thinking about trying to convince them to practice with one of us. The little shitheads are sneaking out at night and going to some shithole to train off the radar.”
“That’s what they were doing there, huh?” Razor said with a frown. He had been the one to see them. Razor had been there on a run, and now Rogue was glad he had been. “That place is bad news, brother. All kinds of drug addicts and pimps down there.”
Rogue nodded. “I’ve been following them every time. They haven’t gone in the last week, but I imagine after everything that went down last night, they’ll be picking it back up. They don’t want to feel powerless and I want to make sure they can fight their way out if they’re snatched again.”
Savage looked around the table. “Anyone in here opposed to working with the girls if we can clear it with Scarlett?” he asked everyone.
“I can help them with close combat,” Ice offered.
“I can help with their knife skills,” Steel added.
“Should teach them to handle a gun, too,” Fury suggested.
“As long as no one gives them one,” Rogue said firmly. “Last thing I need is them to get pissed at someone and pop off a shot. Not to mention Scarlett will have my balls.”
A few brothers snickered. “Something tells me you would still enjoy that,” Ink smirked. “Kinky bastard.” Rogue flipped him off.
“You think Scarlett will go for any of this?” Fury asked him.
Rogue shrugged his shoulders. “Probably not, but I’ll convince her. She won’t be able to deny that training them is a smart move, and if it’s with people she can trust, it makes sense.”
“Just make sure you ask her when she’s in a really good mood,” Jax suggested with a wicked grin. “You know, after you’ve made her cum so many times she’s basically a puddle.”
