“The innkeepers?” Fury asked.

“Held by the cops until the Feds get here,” Code answered. “Past that, I’m not sure.”

“You think that’s the last of those around here?” Savage asked.

Fury gave him a grim smile. “I doubt it. We’ve only cut off one head of the snake, and another one is bound to grow.”

“Not unless we make clear what will happen if they try to pull that shit around here again,” Savage replied tightly. He looked at Code. “Any way to contact Tanya’s father? Or figure out who the real head of the snake is?”

“I doubt it’s one head,” Code said after a moment. “Tanya’s father mentions a few different men in emails to her, but never by name or initials. Just uses ‘he’ or ‘they’. Smart, because you have to figure he knew someone would hack in eventually. Still, I’m running through known associates of his and seeing what I can find.”

“Good,” Savage said with a nod. “For now, though, send him a message. Let him know his daughter is dead, that we’ve cut off his operation here, and that if he doesn’t want to die himself, then he’ll stay the hell out of our territory.” A rumble of agreement moved through the room.

“We need to do something about the Attorney General and that other asshole,” Razor pointed out. Back from the hospital and his arm in a sling for the time being, Rogue was immensely grateful to his brother for protecting his family. He looked exhausted, but refused to rest. He wanted in on this, and since he couldn’t be a part of the interrogation, then Rogue wasn’t about to deny him. Especially knowing that Karissa was here and she was watching him like she wasn’t sure how she felt. Both grateful he was alive, and pissed that he was hurt.

“I’ll make some calls,” Savage promised. “We’ve got some contacts that can handle that shit for us. Best if we don’t do it ourselves,” he added with a hard look at Rogue who glared at him. “The Feds being around is bad enough, and we don’t want to draw more attention to ourselves if we can help it.”

Rogue clenched his jaw but gave a small nod. He didn’t like it, but he knew Savage was right. Still, if the asshole went to jail, he’d be calling in some favors to make sure he never left.

“Oh, and I figured out about Detective Isaac,” Code added with a cool grin. “Seems dear ol’ Howard loves teenage boys, and Tanya and her father were supplying him with them as long as he kept us and everyone else off of them.”

Rogue snarled, but wasn’t really surprised. “He’s a dead man,” he said coolly.

“But you won’t be the one to kill him,” Savage said firmly. Rogue snarled at him, but Savage just held his gaze. “You’ll be the first person they come looking for. Code, make sure the Feds get that information somehow without tracing back to us, and then we’ll deal with the detective when he’s right where we want him.” He looked at Rogue pointedly.

Rogue grumbled his annoyance but nodded.

“Done,” Code said with a nod.

“Good. Now, I think that’s all we can do for tonight. Razor, go to bed, and try not to fight with Karissa too much tonight,” Savage said with a teasing smile.

Razor flipped him off with his good hand. “I’m too fucking tired to fight with anyone, Prez. Besides, I’m going to need all my strength when I tie her to the damn bed for being there in the first place. Damn stubborn woman.”

They all chuckled. “Can I be there when you try that?” Jax asked with a wicked grin. “You know, just to make sure she doesn’t kill you?” Razor rolled his eyes and stood up, leaving the room without another word.

“I give it a month before she’s wearing his patch,” Fury predicted with a chuckle.

Rogue doubted it would even be that long. It changed a man when he saw the woman he loved in danger.

He left Church and headed for the steps. He went to his room, the one he wouldn’t be using much more except for the rare occasion, and walked in. He stopped when he saw Wren and Win sitting huddled together in the middle of the bed. Neither said a word, just looked at him. He glanced around but didn’t see Scarlett, and frowned.

“She’s in another room with Karissa,” Wren told him quietly.

“You alright?” he asked gruffly, feeling awkward.

“That depends,” Win said quietly as well. They eyed him warily. “Do you hate us?”

“Why the hell would I hate you?” he demanded, brows pinched in confusion.

“For what we did,” Wren answered.

“No,” he said firmly. “I’m damn proud of you. You’re both damn strong. Strong enough to fight those bastards earlier in the library, and strong to go down there and face your demons head on. Wish like hell you didn’t have to, but I understand why.” He did, even if it would eat at him for a while.

“They’re gone?” Win asked.

Rogue nodded. “They’re gone. They won’t ever hurt you again.”

Both girls nodded. “Rogue,” Wren said hesitantly. “Thank you. For letting us do that. We needed it.”
