“More like I’m dealing with three demons,” Rogue muttered.

“Demons?” Fury repeated, confused. “What the hell are you talking about now?”

Rogue just shook his head. “Nevermind. Any news on the traffickers?”

Savage shook his head. “A few brothers were out last night looking around and asking questions, but nothing so far. Got some informants working on trying to catch wind of anything too.”

“Maybe we should talk to our favorite detective,” Rogue suggested with a grim smile. Detective Howard Isaac was terrified of him, and he liked to keep it that way. The man was scum as far as he was concerned, but he was useful in making sure that they weren’t hassled by the other local law enforcers. Especially the newer ones that got a hard on to make examples of them.

“Might not hurt,” Savage agreed. “Though I doubt the cops have much to say on it.”

“Probably up to their asses in it themselves,” Steel said darkly.

“I’ll make the call,” Fury said, pulling out his phone and stepping outside.

“I’ll be heading out to shake some more trees and see what rats scurry out,” Steel added.

“Who’s going with you?” Savage asked him.

Steel shrugged. “I’ll see who’s around.”

“I’ll go with you,” Savage said. “Got a few trees I can shake too.” He looked at Rogue. “I’m going to talk with Code before we head out and see if he’s found anything else. He was up most of the night running searches and trying to track down any information we can use.”

“Is he the hacker?” a voice behind them asked, making them all turn around and stare at the twins, wearing identical black t-shirts, cropped shorts, and sneakers. “You think he’d show me how he does that?” Win asked, looking excited at the idea.

Rogue and Savage exchanged a look. “Maybe,” Rogue said noncommittally. “What are you two doing down here?”

Wren shrugged. “Scarlett said we were annoying her, and she was going to have a nap. We need some stuff, so figured we’d come ask you if you could take us into town so we can grab it.”

Rogue scowled. “You’re not going anywhere,” he said firmly. When they opened their mouths to argue with him, he cut them off with a slash of his hand. “No. Or did you forget that there are people after you? You going into town is like waving a red flag at a bull.”

“Well, we need some stuff, so you’re going to have to get it for us then,” Wren said with a careless shrug.

His scowl darkened. “I told you to make a list last night. What more shit could you need?”

Win rolled her eyes. “You think we could predict that we were all going to experience shark week at the same time?” she asked drolly.

He’d have said no, but at the glint in her eyes, he knew that was exactly what she had predicted.

“Since you’re making us stay here and not leave, Uncle Ro-Ro, you need to grab us some supplies,” Wren added with a smirk. Rogue growled low in his throat at the stupid nickname. “Unless you want to deal with us bleeding all over the place. Or, you know, Scarlett being pissed at you that you didn’t help us.”

“Trust us, you don’t want her mad at you over something like this,” Win said with a firm nod. “Especially not this time of the month.”

Rogue felt like he was being played, but instead of arguing, he sighed. “Fine. Give me the list and I’ll grab it later.”

Both girls smirked and Wren pulled out her phone. “I’ll text it to you.”

“So, can we meet the hacker?” Win asked excitedly. “I want to take Computer Science in college, so if I can talk to him, that might help me get a leg up.”

Rogue glanced at Savage, who shrugged. “As long as he’s not busy and has time to talk to you,” Rogue finally agreed.

Wren sighed. “Now what the hell am I going to do?” she sighed. “That shit is boring.”

“Not my fault you don’t want to work your brain,” Win sneered at her sister.

Wren glared at her. “At least I’ll have a brain when I’m old and not rot from staring at a screen all day,” she sneered back.

Rogue looked at Savage, who was watching both girls warily. “Boys,” Savage said firmly, looking back at Rogue.
