Scarlett snickered, earning her a glare from Rogue. She just smiled at him. “Everything good?” she asked as they moved towards the dining room table.
“Got some club stuff to deal with today. I’ll have to head out for Church after we eat.”
“I find it really funny you guys call it Church,” Win commented, setting plates down on the table. “I mean, you guys are so far from saints it’s kind of funny.”
“They’d all burn if they set foot in an actual church,” Wren agreed.
“Do you two always talk this much in the mornings?” Rogue asked as he sat down beside Scarlett.
“Only when we have such lovely company,” Win replied in a faux British accent.
Scarlett took a pancake and some bacon, biting her lip to keep from laughing. God, these girls were something else. They were enjoying themselves far too much.
Instead of retorting, Rogue looked over at her and asked, “What are you doing today?”
Scarlett shrugged. “I’m probably going to clean and try to get some reading done. It’s been a busy week.”
Rogue nodded. “I’ll probably be busy most of the day, but you have my number if you need me.”
“Hey, you didn’t ask us what we were doing today,” Wren pouted.
Rogue gave her a bland look. “Why would I when I know you’ll be out wreaking havoc on the unsuspecting?”
“You make us sound like we terrorize people,” Wren sighed. “We’re awesome. Ask all the neighbors.”
Rogue didn’t reply, just shoved a bite of pancake in his mouth. Smart man.
“I thought you girls were going over to Sandy’s today,” Scarlett said conversationally.
Both girls immediately scowled. Uh oh. “We have nothing to do with that backstabbing bitch,” Wren sniffed.
“Wren,” Scarlett warned, leveling her with a hard look.
“What? She is!” Wren protested heatedly. “She acted like our friend because she wanted us to introduce her to the football captain at camp, which we did, and now that she’s landed him, she’s being nasty and mean. She told everyone at camp she used us. We found out because Stacey told us.”
Scarlett frowned. “Alright, fine,” she agreed. “That was a bitch move.”
“It’s not like the quarterback is anything special anyways,” Win said with a roll of her eyes. “Rumor has it he has a tiny dick.”
Rogue happened to be chewing, immediately choked and started coughing. Win and Wren grinned. Scarlett shook her head in exasperation. “How the hell would you know that?” she asked warily.
Both girls grinned slowly. “See, being that the camp has a pool, we all go swimming at least once a day to cool off. And maybe—by accident, of course—one of us happened to go into the wrong changing room and got an eyeful,” Wren says innocently.
“And then the other one just had to tell someone,” Win added with a nod.
Scarlett didn’t buy that for a minute. “You accidentally or on purpose walked in?” she asked, arching a brow at them.
“Accidentally on purpose?” Wren said carefully.
“I mean, maybe he knows what to do with it,” Win says thoughtfully. “He is nice and not a complete douche.”
“Should have asked—”
“Stop,” Rogue barked, glaring at them. “Jesus, is this how teenage girls behave?” Both girls just blinked at him, and Scarlett gave him a cool look when he finally looked her way. He groaned and scrubbed a hand over his face. “Why the hell have I done this to myself?” he muttered. “That damn blow to the head must have knocked a few screws loose.”
“We thought that was normal for you,” Wren snickered.
“Little girl,” Rogue warned, clenching his jaw. Uh oh, someone was getting ticked, Scarlett thought.
