"And I said no!" she said defyingly.

"But you are mine."

Her blue eyes scanned mine confused and refused to see what was already so clear. She was guarded this one. She didn't get her hopes up or wanted to believe anything until it was made undeniably clear to her. It was not very hard to see.

"I am no one's," she said angrily.

"No?"

"No!"

I just leaned a little back, releasing her chin. She glared at me, but she was so small compared to me, that the sight of it just amused me.

"I will show you then," I said.

"What?"

I didn't give her time to process before I leaned down and pressed my lips to hers in a powerful and hungry kiss that told her just how desperate I was for her and gave her silent promises of all the pleasure I would bring her. She would never want anyone else but me!

Chapter 6

-Lara-

His lips were pressed against mine in a warm and demanding kiss. How did this happen? How did I let him get this close? I should push him away and maybe get a good slap in before I run for the door, but for some reason, I didn't want him to move. I wanted ... more ...

No, I had to shake that thought off me. I had to get away. It didn't matter why he wanted me to be his. I was most likely just a plaything for the night before he moved on to more ... interesting things, or should I say more interesting women. He probably didn't view us as such. No, to him we were just someone to spend a night with, blowing off some steam before going to the next. As a hybrid, his needs were most likely stronger and more demanding than for the rest of us, but I refused. No matter how good it felt, to be one out of many to help him in such a way, I would not do it.

So, I backed away and ...

Smack!

His head did not even move, and he just looked at me, almost bored. I tried to keep eye contact, but the violent pain shooting from my hand just made it impossible. I grabbed it and let out a painful cry before I tried waving it in the air to somehow get the pain to go away.

"What are you made of?" I asked. "Stone?"

He sighed tiredly and then grabbed my wrist, turning my hand, so the palm was facing upwards. I looked at him shocked. What was he going to do? You didn't just slap the hybrid king. It had consequences, but instead of putting me in handcuffs, he started to put pressure on different places on my hand.

"Does that hurt?" he asked.

"A ... little," I said.

"And here?"

His warmth spread to me, and for a moment I forgot why it even hurt. I looked up at him, but his eyes were on my hand, and I quickly turned to it again.

"A little," I whispered before pulling my hand slowly away.

He let me go before putting his hands in his pockets and then locking eyes with me. He didn't look very pleased with me right now, and my plan to head for the door seemed to be quite impossible.

"You are lucky it isn't broken," he said. "But I warn you not to do that again. Not if you really want to break it."

He walked back to his chair where his drink stood and sat down. He certainly did not look very playful anymore, and his mood swings just annoyed me.

"Why do you even care?" I asked.

He rolled his eyes after taking a sip of his drink and then placed it down hard on the coffee table.

"You half-bloods really are a mystery," he said. "An annoying mystery."
