"Leaving?" she asked confused.

"Going back, of course. To the states."

"What?" she asked. "I am not going anywhere with you!"

She crossed her arms again, but there was no arguing about this. I had to go back, and as my mate, she was going with me, there would be no discussion about this.

"You will."

She shook her head and took a big step back, and I sighed deeply. I really had to do everything in my power not just to pick her up and throw her in the damn car.

"Lara, you're my mate and you will go with me."

She shook her head again, but then suddenly froze, as if she remembered something, and slowly she lowered her arms. I couldn't say what had made such a sudden change happen, but she didn't seem like she was going to fight me anymore.

"We're leaving ... tomorrow?" she asked while looking down.

"Yes."

She nodded a little while still looking at the ground, and then silently she walked over to the other side of the car, opened the door, and got inside. I had no idea what just went on in her head, and I would of course find out, but first I needed to get her back, so she could shower and get warmed up. She had to be cold, running through the woods in bare feet and a dress that provided no warmth. So, I got in the car again and quickly got it moving, texting Ace and Gabriel where I was going, not that they didn't already know I wasn't coming back.

Chapter 11

-Lara-

Plans change. All the time.

I had tried to escape the one person that might actually get me out of there, I realized. I needed money, so I snuck into the party hoping to get some. I still needed money, since I wasn't planning on staying with the hybrid that called himself my mate, but at least he could get me out of there. It was why when he said we were leaving tomorrow, I stopped fighting and I stopped running. I got into his car willingly, and I knew it surprised him, but it sure did please him as well. He thought I was giving in, but I wasn't. He was my ticket out of here, and the second he turned his back to me, I was running like crazy, but first things first. I needed to get on that plane, and far away from the shit life that I called mine.

"I hope you're not planning to jump out of the car."

I looked over at one of the last hybrids on this earth. I couldn't say he wasn't handsome, but he was trouble for me as well. Half-bloods had it hard enough. Him, claiming me as his was like painting the biggest target on my back. No one would want me to be close to him and would find a way to get him for themselves, but really, I didn't want him. I wanted to get out of there, so for now I had to play my part, and once we landed on the other side of the water, I was gone.Good luck finding me among 329 million people,I thought.

"Why would you think that?" I asked.

"Your hand is resting on the handle," he said, and his eyes went to my fingers that were toying with the handle.

I was surprised my hand was even there. I had not noticed it. It seemed even my subconscious was prepared to get the hell out of there. I willed myself to let go. I couldn't seem strange or suspicious. I had to make it seem like I was actually going with him. Win his trust a little, and then when he thought he could relax, thinking I wasn't running, that was when I would.

I stretched my fingers a little. I had been gripping the handle quite hard, without noticing, and I gave Dominic a small smile, trying to seem as calm as possible.

"Didn't notice I was," I told him and looked out of the window.

"Don't worry, little half-blood, I won't bite," he said, before looking at me.

I turned my head, and his dark eyes held mine, suddenly making the air disappear and the car seemed so much smaller.

"Unless you want me to."

I groaned and turned away before rolling my eyes, but even if his suggestion had been such a cliché, my body warmed in strange ways that I was not willing to find out why or explore. He had already given me a taste of what his hands and tongue could do. What wouldn't it feel like if he bit me? No! I was not supposed to think about that. I was not supposed to wonder what it would be like to be so claimed by him, his teeth in my skin and his ...

I couldn't help the small cough that left me, as if I was trying to interrupt my own thoughts, and I could feel his eyes on me, probably wondering why I was squirming in my seat. It was all thanks to the stupid hybrid that for some reason got himself a half-blood mate, and I was a thief too. He really got lucky there, but to be honest, I had hoped I wouldn't have to stoop so low. I just wanted a better life. I just wanted an escape.

-Dominic-

The little half-blood acted strangely. She was moving around nervously in her seat, fidgeting with her dress, and while she must be a little cold, her cheeks had a deep pink color that I could only say I loved seeing, but it did still confuse me why the little wolf that had tried escaping me, had suddenly gotten in the car without fighting.

She had a fire in her. No doubt, and it just seemed strange that she would be willing to just get in my car when she was so desperate to get away. She even found it worth risking pissing off three hybrids, when she made a run for it. So, something had to be up, but I would play her game for now.
