Dominic was over at the door before I even got up from the couch and came back with something in his hands. It was ... a dress? He threw it to me, and I caught it, looking from it and back at him.
"You are really serious about me coming with you," I said.
"Did you think I wasn't?" he asked, as he put his hands casually in his pockets.
I rolled my eyes and shook my head before going to the room that I had seen him come out of. I made sure to close the doors behind me and LOCK them before turning around, seeing it of course was the bedroom he was using that I had ended up in. Great ... I tried ignoring how much it smelled like him, as I quickly let the blanket fall and removed my torn clothes and mask before I took the dress and held it up.
It was a long black one with a very deep v-cut and a long slit by the right leg. I couldn't believe I was being forced to wear this, but I had no other choice. I knew he was serious when he said he would just throw me over his shoulder and bring me to the party wearing the blanket if I did not listen.
So, I quickly started to change into the dress, but it wasn't until I had gotten it on, I realized that I was wearing no panties ... I was going to go commando to this party. I smacked my hand against my forehead.Really?
I sneered annoyed, but there was nothing I could do about it. At least the dress was long and besides the slit by my leg that started mid-thigh, I probably didn't have anything to worry about. It did not mean I liked it, but I did not really have a choice.
I walked over to the doors and unlocked them before pushing them over. Dominic was leaning back against the couch where he had ... I shook my head trying not to think about what he had done to me, as I walked over to him. He then leaned down a little and picked up a pair of much fancier black heels, which had been standing beside him, than the ones I had been wearing.
I took them and leaned down to take my shoes off before I put the heels on and then I stood back up, getting more into his height. I rarely wore heels, and it hurt like hell ...
"Do I really have to wear this?!" I asked annoyed. "You didn't even give me any underwear!"
He just smiled at that and then walked closer, making me take a step back, but his hands landed on my hips pulling me closer.
"Good," he said darkly. "You won't need them. This party will be over quickly and then we will continue from where we left off."
"No, we won't! That won't happen again!" I told him and pushed his hands away.
He just laughed a little, apparently finding my behavior funny, but was it so strange he did not find me very intimidating? To a hybrid, I was probably like a little kitten trying to make herself seem fiercer than she was.
He was built like a fighter. A true warrior. He had most likely even fought as one ... I actually had no idea how old he was, but I knew he was far older than me. Did he really not see all the wrong things about our bond here? There was the age, the aging, and the power differences. I did not match him in any way, but I hoped he would soon realize it and then just reject me, so we could both get on with our lives because it was clear he would not allow me to be the one to reject him.
Damn hybrid ...
"Shall we," he said and held out his arm.
I sighed and then connected my arm with his.
Chapter 9
-Lara-
When we arrived back at the party, I had to say my palms were quite sweaty. I was literally going back to the scene of the crime. I had stolen from these people because they were my ticket out ... No, none of them had really noticed me, and the king probably had the things returned, but still, my heart was racing. It didn't help, I had a powerful hybrid at my side, and people always turned their heads in his direction. I felt so out of place walking beside him, and I did stop a few times, as we walked through the beautiful house, thinking I couldn't do it, but he just grabbed my hand and dragged me with him.
I didn't stand a chance and simply had to follow him, even if everything in me just screamed, run, run, run. What if someone had seen me take something from them? Or what would they say, when they finally saw me walking hand in hand with the king? Oh, Goddess, I was going to be killed for this. These people would be out for blood once they saw me. Half-bloods were hated enough, just for existing; I didn't need to give them another reason to hate me.
"Please, let us turn around," I said, as we neared the big crowd outside.
He shook his head and just grunted his disagreement.
"I don't want to go out there!" I sneered lowly, but it was already too late.
We were walking down the stairs, leading down to where the real party was, and people quickly turned to us, looking me up and down, not sure what to make of me. Where had I come from? Who was I? Why was the king holding my hand? I actually wished he wasn't, because his grip had tightened so much it hurt, and it would help if I could create a little distance between us, and hopefully take the heat off a little. Unfortunately, I wasn't so lucky, and soon I found myself among more than just one hybrid.
"Took you long enough," one of them said.
It was the playful one of them, but I bet more hid beneath the playful side. A hybrid was not to be messed with, and if he got really angry, I bet anyone would be afraid. His eyes slowly went to me, and his smile just turned crooked.
"The little half-blood is back, I see," he said.
I just turned my head and tried wiggling out of the king's tight grip, but of course, he wasn't letting go, and I was just hurting myself from trying to fight him.
