"I hear you!" I sneered.
"You need to come. At least if you have no interest in Arianna then tell them."
"Why don't you tell them for me?" I said with a small smile.
He sighed on the other end. We both knew that was not how it worked. I could not just run and hide, even though I wouldn't really call it hiding. I had just found something so much more fun to play with. The little wolf even tried biting down harder. She tried not to break through the skin, even if she did not like me very much, she was clearly not one to cause people real pain. She was only trying to make her point clear through her bite, and it just amused me.
"Dominic! You need to come back!"
I lifted my head, looking up at the ceiling annoyed. I did not want to go back, and not only because I would rather stay here with her, but I had not wanted to attend the stupid party, to begin with, and now I was being forced back.
"I am on my way," I said annoyed.
I ended the call and put my phone back in my pocket before looking down at the little wolf in my arms, who was still trying to get free while holding the blanket tightly around her body. I smiled at the sight of her and then quickly turned her around. She looked almost shocked when we came face to face and she was forced to let go of my arm.
"Now, you and I have a little party to attend," I said.
She looked at me confused, yet I couldn't risk leaving her here. She clearly was determined to get out of there and far away from me. It did annoy me, she wasn't as affected by the bond, as I had hoped, but half-bloods were all mysteries and maybe with time, it would come to grow. Until then, I had to keep an eye on her.
"A party?" she asked.
"Unfortunately, yes."
She crossed her arms the best she could while holding the blanket tightly around her.
"I am not going anywhere with you," she told me.
I just smiled. Always so stubborn. Why did I find that attractive?
"Well, you will go no matter what, even if I have to carry you, and you can either go wearing that blanket or we can get you some new clothes."
She didn't seem so stubborn now that I suggested she wore that blanket to the party, and I liked to see her debate her choices inside her head. I knew what she would choose eventually, and it was clear when she had made her choice, as she sighed almost defeated, and let her arms drop a little.
"Fine ..."
I smiled pleased as I heard her finally give just a little in.
"But I have nothing else to wear!" she said.
"Give me a minute," I told her.
I walked a little away and then heard her yell:
"I am not wearing any of your late-night conquests' clothes!"
I just smiled as I pulled my phone from my pocket and dialed another number.
-Lara-
My foot was tabbing against the floor, as I waited for some clothes to be brought to the suite. The hybrid king had disappeared into another room and came out not long after dressed in a dark blue smoking that I hated to admit looked really good on him. Tell me again why he was determined to make me his.
Oh yes ... the whole mate thing.
That was a pain in the ass. I just wanted to be left alone, was that too much to ask for?
Knock.
Knock.
