"Or were you just looking the other way?"

"I tried controlling her."

"By the Goddess!" I shouted and started to pace a little back and forth. "And you wanted me to get mated to her?! You wanted your psychopath of a daughter as my queen."

"She is still my daughter!" he shouted.

"Who you clearly can't control!" I yelled back, getting in his face.

He looked away, knowing I was speaking the truth. He had really allowed his daughter to just ... butcher people, as he had said. It was fucked up, but there was no time to deal with that right now. First, I needed to find Lara.

"Do you have any idea where she could be?"

Chapter 53

-Lara-

"Fuck no!"

I knew what I said no to, but I wasn't so sure Arianna knew. She looked rather confused, tilting her head a little to the side, before saying:

"If you don't want to die, you know what you have to do."

"And I gave you my fucking answer! I am not rejecting him! I love Dominic and I won't allow you to take me from him!"

Arianna narrowed her eyes. She clearly didn't like my answer, and she stepped as close as she could, while bending forward a bit, so we ended up face to face.

"Wrong answer," she said darkly.

I didn't like the evil smile on her lips or the way she was looking at me, as if she was about to feed me to the sharks. It made goosebumps appear, but I wouldn't ever hand over Dominic like this. I was his and he was mine. We fit together, despite what I had thought in the beginning. Despite running and being rude to him, I knew now that I was in love with him, and I wanted to live our lives together. There was no way Arianna could convince me to let him go. Still, I feared what my answer would bring me.

"Don't worry," she said and reached out to pat my cheek.

I flinched away; afraid she was going to hit me again.

"I will give you some time to think," she told me.

"W-What?" I stammered.

"Yes, I will let you think it over, and when we talk later, then I am sure you will have changed your mind."

"You're crazy," I said.

She didn't like that, and her evil smile disappeared, as she straightened herself and crossed her arms.

"Don't call me that," she said darkly.

She then walked around me, and I turned my head to follow her.

"Have fun with her boys!" she said, as she left the room.

Wait ... what?

The bodyguards, or whatever she had brought with her, started to come closer. Arianna left the door a little open, still providing us with a bit of light, but I knew they wouldn't really need it. Our visions were better than humans in the dark. It could still be hard to see, but I was not running. She probably wanted to hear my screams,I thought, shivering, as I watched the men she had brought, circling me and looking like wolves ready to attack me, even though they were all vampires.

I was fucked ...
