Startled, she jumped. “Oh God!” Spinning on her heels with her phone in her hand, she gasped when she saw me. “Oh, hi! Sorry!”
Gnawing the inside of my bottom lip, I tightened my mouth trying to hold back a smile. “I'm Carmine. Mr. Rovati sent me here to help keep an eye on things.” Lifting my hand to my chin, I trailed my eyes up her body, absorbing her beauty. I did not even care if she noticed me checking her out. She was an angel.Thank you, Giovanni. He had not warned me that she was incredibly stunning.
“I'm Lily.” She smiled radiantly, her teeth perfectly white as she clutched her phone.
“Nice to meet you.” My gaze fought to keep eye contact. I just wanted to bask in every inch of her flawless figure. “Where are the others?”
“They're napping.” She glanced up at the ceiling before settling her mesmerizing gaze back on me. “We stayed up way too late last night. I just want to lay on the beach.” She gestured to her barely attired body. “But of course, we can't go alone.” She rolled her eyes. “There are rules I’m sure you know about.”
“Yes, there are definitely rules.” I crossed an arm over my body, lifting the other to my chin. Forgetting my gaze was scouring her frame once again, I rolled my tongue across my bottom lip. “I can go with you.”
“You will?”
Her voice plucked me from my lustful ideas.
“Sure,” I shrugged. “I'm here to watch you girls.”And that's not going to be a problem with you.
“Great.” She rested her fists on her hips. “I just have to make a call really fast.”
“Right,” I nodded. “I have to grab something anyway. I’ll be right back.”
She giggled. “You don’t have to pretend you have to get something just so I can make a phone call.”
“What?” I arched a brow, slanting my head.
“It’s not a private call. I have to call someone I haven’t heard from in a while which is so unlike him.”
Somehow, she knew I was attempting to excuse myself so she could make a call. I had a feeling it was Tyler, anyway considering Giovanni’s plan had already begun. The truth is, I planned to step around the corner to eavesdrop. It had been made clear, I was to know everything that was going on in the home, including calls. He had a talk with her before flying her to the island, but he told me to specifically watch her phone calls since she was not fully aware of the circumstances.
“I see.” I stepped over to the counter, looking for the glasses. “I’ll just get some water while you do that then.” I opened three cabinets before finding one. Pulling it down, I filled it with water.
Tyler, oh my gosh! The excitement in her voice was sickening. She had no idea she was dating a predator who loved women…and girls. I felt sick to my core.
It's so good to hear your voice. Where have you been, baby?
Slowly, I got my water from the filter on the exterior of the freezer, watching her reflection in the smart screen on the fridge side.
Busy doing what?
Hello?
I turned to her distressed face, lifting my brows.
Hello? Tyler?
“Whatever.” She laid her phone on the counter.
“Is everything okay?” I asked though I knew otherwise.
She shook her head, grabbing a towel off the back of a bar stool. “Screw him right now. He hung up on me.”
Striding to the sliding, glass door, she yanked it open. She stepped over to a teakwood box, pulling it open. When she bent over, I felt a stir in my body. Taking a deep breath, I watched her pull out a rolled, orange and teal towel before holding it out. I did not immediately take it from her.
She pushed it into my stomach gently. “You might want this.”
I offered a single nod, gesturing for her to walk ahead of me. The entire time she was in front, I watched her bottom shift back and forth as she sashayed down the steps toward the ocean. I held my hand out and she placed her towel in my palm. I laid hers down first, followed by mine.
“It's so relaxing out here.” She sat down, curling her knees under her body.
