You're my favorite girl. He chuckled. You know this. But I have a business to run.
I love you, Marco. She buried her head in his shoulder.
He pushed her back harshly.Would you stop? You're ruining my—
A tap on my shoulder pulled me away from his conversation. I glanced up to see Carmine gripping his phone, perplexed. Scooting the chair with the back of my knees, I stood, exhaling.
“What?”
“I located Marco’s emails,” he sighed, “but, we have a problem.”
“Already?” I scoffed. “What is it?”
“The actual emails.”
He turned the phone around, showing me the display. Snatching it instantly, I scrolled.
“They were in a file hidden so deep, I almost missed them.”
Shoving the phone back in his hand, I roared, “Fuck this shit!” Spinning to the others, I clenched my jaw. “Change of plan. You guys have to stay behind.” I marched the bedroom, grabbing my gun off the nightstand.
Carmine followed. “Gio, I—"
Lunging forward, I jabbed my fingers into his chest. “You don't have permission to call me Gio!” I rushed to the door.
“Okay fine. It's not my place to say but—”
I spun on my heels, crossing my arms, gritting my teeth.
“You really can't go alone.”
Throwing my arms out, I pointed to Emir, addressing Carmine. “You can thank Emir for choosing not to blow your head off!” I slid my gun in my waistband then grabbed a nearby tank top, slipping it over my head. “Need I remind you that I let you live after that?” I took two, quick strides toward him. “Know your place.” I nudged him in the chest once again.
He rolled his eyes, knowing when I got upset no one could calm me down. I was too pissed off about the emails to knock him out for disrespecting me.
“You work for me. We are not friends again, yet. You might be family to me, but you know the rules.” Sliding my hands in my pockets, I marched to the door once again then twisted to face him. “If you cannot respect me as your boss, you will join Marco today.” I pointed to each of them. “Stay here and DO NOT LEAVE!”
I marched down to the end of the boardwalk where Marco was located. I recalled that the bungalow provided a view of not only the lagoon, but the back side of the Presidential villa as well. It was clear why he chose that one. He expected to be followed. He knew I would be on his trail.
To my surprise there were no guards at the entrance. Confused by his carelessness, I arched a brow. Suspicion filled my mind as I threw the door open. No sign of life. Keeping my back to the wall, I searched every corner of the interior, finally hearing a toilet flush.
Drawing my gun, I waited as the door opened slowly. A topless girl emerged, ready to scream the moment she saw the muzzle of my pistol. Holding my finger to lips, I shook my head. Her mouth snapped closed.
“You and your friends need to leave right now.”
A tear rolled down her cheek. “I-I—”
“Go!” I hissed.
She grabbed a coverup, throwing it around her body and took off running out the door. I stormed outside the back onto the patio, weapon pointed directly at Marco. The girls began screaming one by one, running by me.
“Dad.” Marco chuckled, patting the blonde on the rear.
“Oh God, oh God, Oh God.” She sprinted away, disappearing quicker than the others.
“How the fuck did you get those photos?!”
Ignoring my question, he began to roam a small area across the veranda. I stalked his every move. I knew he had a gun on him. I saw it in the video. He was trying to distract me.
