She snickered. “Your boss called me and flew me here as a surprise for you.”
“I'm so happy he did.” I began to tear up. My emotions had been building for weeks.
She shrugged, winking. “I guess he's not so bad after all.”
I rolled my eyes, twisting the corner of my lip into a forced smile. “Yeah.”
She pulled me to her once again, embracing me.
“Oof.”
Gasping, she backed away. “What's wrong?!”
I sighed, holding my ribs,
“Are you pregnant?!” A wide grin etched onto her face.
“What?!” Scrunching my nose, I shook my head. “Ew. No.” Placing a hand on my chest, I took a deep breath. “I forgot you don't know.”
“Want to tell me everything on the beach?” She pulled her shirt to the side, showing me a peek of her bikini strap. “I need some serious vitaminsea.”
Notte Jazz Club: Rovati Hotel & Casino - Atlantic City, New Jersey
The club was packed tonight with patrons, enjoying the lively ambiance. My family made sure when the club was opened, it maintained the nostalgic jazz-era feel. Situated on the ground floor of my brother’s New Jersey hotel, it was a slice of elegance and reminiscent among the busy Atlantic City strip. Offering a walk-in humidor and live jazz or blues music every night, it was a popular spot for both the locals and tourists, seeking to be transported back in time for a few hours. Sometimes the songs were covers from older times. Tonight, it was all jazz renditions of newer compositions.
Smoke filled the air, creating a fog on the band. Taking turns puffing on a cigar and sipping my whiskey, I quietly studied the crowd. My company for the night, a woman on each side of me on the bench seat. One stroking my cock outside my formal slacks, ignoring the bystanders, the other kissing my ear, begging to be fucked upstairs in the penthouse.
As I glanced down to ash my cigar, the presence of a person before me caused me to lift my gaze. “Thanks for showing up.”
He nodded, glancing back and forth at the girls with a small smirk.
Patting the ladies on the thighs at the same time, I turned to each of them, kissing them on their lips. “Excuse us. I need to meet with my friend here.”
They understood they were to follow every order. Without question they shimmied away hand in hand, twirling one another as they stepped onto the dance floor in front of the stage. I slid to the right, gesturing for him to sit next to me.
“It’s been a while.” He examined the club nervously. “Why did we have to meet here?”
Before I could answer I lifted my hand, summoning a passing waitress.
“Yes, Mr. Rovati?”
I turned to Jack. “What would you like?”
He waved his hand, smiling at the young, stunning, scantily dressed girl. “Oh, nothing for me, thanks.”
I snapped my finger, pointing to my glass. “He’ll have what I’m having.”
He nodded. “Then, I guess I’ll have what he’s having.”
The waitress smiled, bowing her head. I winked at her before she hurried away. Narrowing my gaze on him, I creased my brow.
“I needed to be away from New York for this one.” I crossed my arms on the table. “That’s why we have to meet here.”
“Do you want to speak more privately?”
Shaking my head, I glanced around, pulling a slip of paper out of my inner jacket pocket. I handed it to him. Cocking his head, he opened it as the waitress placed his beverage on a cocktail napkin.
“Giovanni is dating, well I wouldn't call it dating.” Rolling my eyes, I shrugged. “I don't know what it is. Anyway, something is up with the woman. I don’t have time to look into it right now. All I know is I don’t know what that bitch is up to.” Leaning closer to him, I gnawed the inside of my cheek. “I can’t find anything on her, but she's not good for him.”
