“Hold up!” She snapped. “I just don't want things to be awkward.”
“Women are all the same. Always wanting to talk.”
“Yeah,” she snorted, “and if more men discussed shit and listened to us, there would be less problems in the world.”
I jerked my head back, arching a brow. “Talking is fucking exhausting Lily. You said yourself, drunken mistake.”
“Are you done now?” She huffed, rolling her eyes.
“Yep.” Lifting my hand to my chin, I nibbled the inside of my bottom lip.
“Well, Mr. Giamagi, I—”
“Just come here.” Chuckling, I grabbed her wrist, tugging her against me as I did in her office. Effortlessly, I lifted her off the ground, backing her into the side of my car. I could see my reflection in her dilated pupils. It was impossible to hold my sober feelings for her in any longer. I crashed my lips into hers, hungrily kissing her, running my fingers through her hair. Breaking the kiss for a moment, I panted. “Are their cameras in the parking garage?”
She pressed her lips to mine. “Mmhmm.”
“Let's go back to your office.” Taking her bottom lip between my teeth, I playfully bit her.
“Am I interrupting anything?”
What the fuck?!A man’s voice appeared from nowhere. I set Lily down, shoving her behind me, promptly shielding her from potential danger. I kept one hand behind my back, entwining my fingers with hers.
Her hand was trembling. I gave her a gentle squeeze, hoping to sooth her before I let go. I rested my hand on my gun, ready to draw at the first sudden movement. Slowly, the man lifted his hands, showing me he was unarmed.
“I just need to speak to you, bro.”
“I’m kinda busy and don't discuss business in front of others.”
He shook his head. “I don't have time to wait until you're done screwing her. Although, I wouldn't mind having a go with her too.”
“You will not lay a hand on her!” I yanked my gun from my waistband, aiming it in the middle of his forehead.
“Calm down, I'm joking.” He chuckled apprehensively as if he was testing a joke.
“You have thirty seconds to tell me why you’re stalking me.” Clenching my jaw, I tried to speak calmly.
“Okay okay.” He lowered his hands, crossing his arms over his chest. “Xavier is pissed about Giovanni and Jane.”
“What does that have to do with anything?” I lowered my gun to my side, keeping a firm grip on it.
“You may want to send her away for a while. He's planning something big.”
“And why do you care about Jane?” It was at that point, I realized he was no threat to us. I flipped on the safety then secured my gun behind my back.
“I don't but, I know the rules and Xavier doesn't care.”
I spun around. “Babe, I need you to step back immediately.”
Her mouth fell agape as she clasped her hands over her mouth. I turned back to the strange guy to see nervousness painted on his face. Why was he giving me a head’s up?
“I suggest you leave now.”
“I’m not even armed, Carmine. I just came to talk.”
“Tell Xavier I said if he comes near any of us,” I took a step closer, “I will kill him myself.”
He smirked. “Suit yourself.” Peeking around me, he winked at Lily before chortling at me. “She’s so pretty, isn’t she?”
