“I do, but I also like when you let me fuck you.” He hissed, my cheeks flushing as his words always brought me close to my edge. “Your cunt is growing tight, Aylin. You are so close, so close, my love. Milk my cock, leave your beautiful arousal dripping all over it.” He groaned as I took his peaked nipples between my fingers, his hips bucking as he lost control and spilled his seed inside me. He growled and showed me sharp teeth as he pressed his thumb to the swollen red bud that always gave me intense pleasure.

“Your turn.” He growled as he sat up and kissed me greedily, a scream of pleasure breaking the connection as the pleasure raddled my entire body. The pleasure was quickly replaced by pain as my hands gripped my belly. “Ahh! Oh no!”

“Aylin! My love, what is wrong?”

“I—do not know. I need the healer!” I whimpered as Daegon slowly helped me lie down and covered my naked body with a large blanket of furs. I watched as Daegon quickly pulled on his breeches and loincloth, avoiding his cloak as he rushed from our home and shouted for the healer. Several agonizing moments later, the healer Ornya, a beautiful elder orc, ran into our home and to my side. She was the only Orc in the clan with bright red hair and blue eyes; Daegon told me once that her mother was one of the most beautiful humans of Fairhorn.

“I warned you not to engage in any pleasure, Aylin. I warned you of it too Chief Daegon.” I blushed and looked away from her gaze as she rested her hands on my belly. I relaxed as the pain slowly subsided, my worries leaving as Daegon slipped into bed and wrapped his arm around my shoulders.

“Your babies are healthy, Lady Aylin, but you need to rest. Chief Daegon, you need to make sure your mate stays in bed and rests, or these babies will come too early.”

“Did you know my mate was having two, Ornya?” Daegon asked as he lowered his brow, my hand patting his as he softened his gaze. If she knew it was twins, not telling us was for the better since she knew how deeply I worried.

“It was better if you did not know of both babies, dear Chief. Your mind is full of worry, as is Aylin’s. Fear not; these babies will be born with no harm to them or you. You must rest! No more journeys, nothing. You must stay in bed as much as possible.

“How can you be so sure? I have seen human females nearly succumb to death as they birthed their young; how can you be sure that death will not take my mate?” Daegon was worried, and it showed on his face. I knew my words brought him no comfort, but maybe Ornya could ease his troubled mind.

“It will not be easy, but Aylin is strong and even though her gift of immortality was taken from her, she still has Elven blood in her veins. Fear not, Chief Daegon. Fear not.” She smiled as she bowed her head before slipping from our hut. I laughed as I heard her scolding several young children for playing too close to the blacksmith, Halla clearly encouraging such behavior.

“Why are you so worried my love?”

Daegon settled into the bed next to me, the heat from his large frame comforting me as I cuddled into his chest. He rested his hand on my belly and tenderly kissed my lips before resting his head on mine. “You are my everything, Aylin. I love you with all my heart and soul and would give my life if it meant you would be safe. For so long, I yearned for a mate, to feel love, and to give love in a way that others often spoke of. From the first moment I saw you, to the first time you let me kiss you, my heart and my soul were yours. When the heart chooses a mate, it is not by accident. It means that our souls are connected, and never again will we be able to love another. If I lost you, Aylin, I would not want to live in this world.” His large fingers brushed some hair from my face as I cupped his cheek, the softness in his eyes something he only revealed to me.

“Do you remember how you frightened me? Those flowers went all over your head.” We laughed before Daegon slipped from the bed and grabbed his dagger and sheath. I looked at him curiously as he unsheathed his dagger, a small dried-up purple flower falling into the furs.

“This was in my hair when I returned home that night after we met.”

“You kept it after all this time?” Tears ran down my cheek as Daegon gently wiped them away with his fingers, a weak smile forming on my lips as I felt so overwhelmed with love for him. I wanted to make love to him, but Ornya was right. I needed to rest and allow my babies to grow. “The first time I saw you, Daegon, I felt no fear. I felt safe in your presence as I now do in your arms. I am glad that my heart chose you as my mate, my gentle Orc.” His lips pressed to mine as I felt his cock grow against my leg, a smirk on my face as I pulled away from him and shook my head.

He growled playfully and kissed my neck before slipping from the bed and throwing on his blouse and leather harness that sat perfectly across his chest and shoulders. “Where are you running off to, my love?”

“To fetch my family some food. I have three mouths to feed” He grinned from ear to ear, his sharp fangs showing as I felt the butterflies in my belly dance and play. My mate was perfect, and soon we would welcome the fruit of our love into this world.

DAEGON

“Please stop watching me, my son. I will not burst into dust the moment you take your eyes off me.” Mother teased as I looked away from her and continued chopping the wood for her and father’s fire.

“Forgive me. My mind is not here today.” My thoughts were so rattled with fear that I often found myself staring out into the distance. Halla and Krim had been gone for almost a month, and my sweet mate could barely walk with her growing belly. Food stores were waning, and the hunters had to stay away for more extended periods, making most of the females irritable.

“Where are you, my son? What has you so troubled? Aylin is healthy and so are the babies, I am healthy and healed. The village is surviving this harsh cold, and everyone is content. What troubles you?” I set the large axe down and followed my mother inside, the warmth feeling nice against my exposed skin as I sat by the fire and warmed my hands.

“I know I should not worry about Aylin and our unborn, but a terrible feeling is gripping me, mother. I cannot think of anything else, and when I am away from Aylin for too long, I begin to feel as if the air has left my lungs. I dare not tell others how I am feeling. They are already looking at me as if I am not fit to lead this, Clan.”

“Daegon, do you ever not worry?” I scoffed at my mother as she sat by my side, her arm resting across my back as she leaned against my arm. She was about to lecture me, but at this moment, I wanted it. I needed her advice.

“I worry for good reason, mother.”

“At times, you do my son, but with Aylin, you are not thinking clearly. She carries two babies, yes, but she is strong. She walked through a snow-covered forest to speak to a Necromancer. She walked away from a life of immortality for you and has helped the females of this village and Fairhorn with many issues. She will survive giving birth to your unborn.” I knew that my mother was right, but she knew not of why I was so scared of losing Aylin.

“When you died, mother, my father nearly died with you.”

“What do you mean, Daegon?” I kissed the top of her head before standing. My heart worried my father would disapprove of my speaking behind his back. “Speak to me, son. We have no secrets.”

“I had never seen father cry before, never seen him crumble as he did when you passed from this life into the next. If you—if Aylin had not spoken to the Necromancer, then father would be dead. I fear that for myself if I lose my precious Aylin. If she were to die, I would not want to live. Do you remember when I would bed countless maidens?”

“I try to forget, Daegon. So many maidens left your furs with heavy hearts, for they knew that they were not your true mate.” I smirked at her gaze, the memories of those women making me ashamed. Those maidens did not compare to my mate, and they never would.
