I was never good enough for Tasha, yet I couldn’t stay away from her. It didn’t matter that she was a stripper at the club we owned—I was fucking drawn to that girl. No matter how bad I wished things could be different, I wasn’t worthy of her and never would be. Too bad I never got the courage to try before I lost the chance.

They might’ve called me Soap, but I was a soulless husk. I was going to find out who had done this to us, and I would rip them apart limb from limb.

Because I was a demon bent on revenge, hiding in a man’s body.

For months I was on Hacker. Each day asking if he’d found anything. When Snow mentioned talking to the RBMC down in Ankeny, I was the first one on my bike.

I’d been saving nearly every penny I’d made since I joined the DSMC. Other than my bike and my dues, I didn’t have much to spend it on. I was prepared to pay them out of my own pocket to find the fuckers responsible for Tash’s death.

But I had a catch—I wanted to be the one to take them out. They refused. Said that wasn’t how they worked. With each day that went past with no viable leads, I lost a little more of my soul. Finally, when I’d been ready to throw in my colors, Snow shipped me off to Texas. Told me to take some time to figure shit out.

Fuck that.

What I didn’t expect was Raptor’s offer or that it was approved by Snow.

I told Raptor I’d think about it, but it really was a no-brainer. Was I demented as fuck inside? Fuck yeah, I was. But more than that…

I was a heartless bastard through and through.
