“Okay, since you begged so nicely…” His grip shifted on mylegs and he tugged me forward. “I’ll help you out, Sparky.”
He thrust into me fast, burying himself to the hilt and grinding himself against my clit. Fireworks went off behind my eyes as I finally fell over the edge. All I could do was moan as he pounded into me, chasing another orgasm.
My hands scrambled for purchase on the tables edge. He grinned at me, his eyes flashing with manic fire that only made me burn hotter.
How had I ever resisted him?
CHAPTER SIXTEEN
Jared woke me the next morning with a kiss, and the delicious scents of cooked breakfast and tea. A girl could get used to waking up to a full breakfast service in bed. If Jared wanted to bargain to keep it going after we escaped the lodge, I’d be more than open to a trade.
“What do you want to do with the day?” he asked while we worked through the pile of food he’d managed to cook on the gas hob. His gaze narrowed at the dining room table and the unfinished board game.
“Absolutely not that. If you value your life, you’ll pack that thing away and hide it.” My shudder had nothing to do with the bite in the air. “I don’t know what we were thinking. No one wins that game without tears.”
“I guess we’ve had enough of our own by this point.” He leaned towards me, smirking before pressing a chaste kiss to my cheek. “It still doesn’t answer the question.”
“I’m aware, you smart-aleck. Just give me a minute to think.” I sipped my tea, studying the snowy landscape outside the window. “It’s a shame we need electricity for the hot tub.”
“And here was me thinking you wouldn’t want me keeping you naked all day.” His fingers trailed up my exposed thigh, toying with the edge of the blanket. I shivered and his blue eyes darkened. “We don’t need a hot tub to achieve that, so I can totally get on board if that’s your plan.”
He reached for me, uncaring of the mug I held aloft or the plates resting on the blankets.
“Easy there, Buttercup, I don’t want to wear my breakfast.” Laughing, I held a hand out, trying to ward him off. “There’s nothing sexy about a cold shower.”
“I disagree. You’d be in it.” He caught my lips with his, stealing my ability to reason with nothing but the glide of his tongue against mine. He pulled back and smiled. “So, any more suggestions, or shall we proceed with the one option on the table?”
I shook my head at him. In a matter of days, he’d made me feel lighter than I had in years. All I really wanted to do was curl up with him and enjoy every blissful second.
“I have an idea, but it could go terribly.”
“You sound so scared.” Jared grinned, turning until his tattooed torso leaned against me.
“It’s notthatbad.” I shook my head at him. “Well, as long as we don’t burn the kitchen down it’s not bad.”
“Okay, Sparky, now I’m intrigued.”
I chewed my lip while nerves reared up to gnaw at me.
“You could teach me to bake,” I blurted the words, rushing them out before my courage failed. What twenty-four year old can’t cook? Me. “If you wanted.”
Jared’s amusement softened. “I can definitely do that. Although our options are pretty limited with the stove.”
He glanced towards the kitchen, a line forming between his brows. It went on so long the nerves took control.
“Sorry, I should have thought about it more.” I jerked upright and threw the blanket off. “It was a terrible idea for right now.”
“No, Els, just give —”
I went to stand, and he lunged for me.
My back hit the pillows, and his rock-hard body covered me. The mug clattered to the floor, liquid splattering all over Andy’s no-doubt expensive hardwood floors.
“I didn’t say no, Sparky.” Jared brushed my hair back, his face so close that if I just raised my head, I’d have his lips pressed against mine, and the entire embarrassing suggestion would be forgotten. “Just give me a minute to figure out what we can make.” His green gaze roamed my face expectantly. “Okay?”
I nodded before shifting beneath him. His eyes darkened, and I shivered yet again.
“Maybe we should get out of bed before we…” He trailed off, his gaze shifting to my lips.
