Truman cursed and shook his head. “I don’t understand you anymore.”
“Stay and just let this be your home, too. The people here are amazing, and I like it.”
Truman cursed again. “Shut the door.”
“Just come to my house and we’ll talk about it.”
“I’ll call you another time.” Truman focused on the road. “Right now, I’m onto the new deal. See ya!”
Raine shut the door, and Truman drove off. As Raine watched him go, he felt a twinge of guilt. Or maybe regret. He couldn’t put a finger on it.
All he knew was that Truman was headed for Wyoming, and there was nothing Raine could do to stop him. He muttered a prayer for him. “Lord, watch over Truman and watch over whoever he deals with in Wyoming. Amen.”
