She straightens and turns to face me, a look of shock and probably concern etched across her face. “Is that just dirty talk, or are you serious?”

I can’t help but chuckle at her endearing innocence. She’s so deliciously corruptible. “You’ll just have to wait and see.” I tease her.

She studies me a moment longer, before she asks, “I really can’t go to the restroom?”

“No.”

“People are going to know what we did, Dean.” She looks mortified. “Those aren’t strangers downstairs.” She adds for good measure. “This isn’t a biker party!”

I have to laugh. Her hair is a bit disheveled from being thoroughly fucked. And her makeup might need a little touching up.

“Alright, doll.” I pretend to cave. “There’s a powder room at the top of the stairs. Go freshen up. I’ll meet you back downstairs in five minutes.”

She sighs as if she’s relieved and turns to grab her little clutch. Digging inside it, she retrieves two small items. One is a mini bottle of perfume, which she spritzes at me without warning, nailing me right in the throat with the mist. Then she hands me a small container of wintergreen tic-tacs.

“I insist.” She says, biting her lip for a moment to stifle a little laugh of her own. “Mind that motor-mouth of yours and visit the men’s room before we rejoin the party, you dirty rogue.”

I smile, tucking the pack into my shirt pocket. I lean into her for a kiss but she places her hand against my chest and leans back.

“Oh hell no.” Her slightly widened eyes and stern reaction have me fighting back laughter again.

“You’re such a prude.” I whisper back. “It’s not like I shoved my tongue inside. Besides, you showered before we came here.”

“Five minutes.” She says again, creeping back towards the door and opening it a crack to peek outside.

“These pregnancy hormones are really working for me, Vanna.” I tease her some more. “I hope you were serious about getting it on with Serene. I’m almost hard again just picturing that. How much longer do we have to stay here?”

She closes the door again to face me. “I’m not sure… We have to tell them about the baby tonight.”

“It’s your call, doll. Whatever you want. However you want to handle it.”

She stares at me for a moment, her hands fidgeting with the little black clutch she’s holding against her matching dress. “They’re going to flip out, Dean…”

I take a few steps towards her, until I’m close enough to brush my fingers against her cheek. “We’re in this together, doll. Always and forever. If they flip out. If they’re over the moon. It doesn’t matter. It’s you and me. I promised to follow your lead, and I will. Just know, however they take it, however this plays out, you will always, always have me.”

She nods, a little smile curves her pretty mouth. “I love you.” She whispers.

“I love you, too.”

Her smile turns into a flirtatious smirk. “Dean?”

“Yeah, baby?”

“Make sure you wash your hands, too.”

She steps out the door, closing it behind her.

I can’t help but chuckle, bringing my fingers to my nose as I breathe her lingering scent deep into my lungs. She’s fucking intoxicating. I listen to the sound of her swooshing dress as she scurries down the hallway, until I can no longer hear her. Leaning against the door once more, I glance at the little antique clock on the night table beside George Washington’s plague, and wait out my five minutes. When it’s up, I step quietly outside into the hall.

“What are you doing up here?”

My heart damn near jumps into my throat at the sound of Giuliana’s voice suddenly beside me. Where the fuck did she come from? I turn back around to face her as she cranes her neck to see into the empty room upon my exit.

“Is Vanna in there?”

“Not anymore.” I say, giving her a quick wink as I shut the door, hoping it conveys to her that Vanna and I just spent a little alone time together. “I was supposed to wait five minutes before I go down. Times up.”

“I bet you go down real well, don’t you?” she bites her bottom lip, sending my heart right back up into my throat again.
