“We need that other bottle of Whiskey.” Cherry says, tossing an empty bottle into the glass bin.

“I’ll see what I can do.” I hear Vanna not so subtly whisper to him, when I turn around to help Cherry reach a bottle on the top shelf. “I’d like to see that notorious Krampus costume myself.”

“Oh great, co-conspirators, are we now?” I tease them.

Viking grins then takes a swig of his beer. “What can I say, bro? Bitches like me.”

I shake my head as Vanna rolls her eyes at his term of endearment.

“I hate to spoil the good time vibes,” Rusty says, walking into the bar from the corridor. “But there’s something up with the bathrooms. They ain’t flushing. Neither the men’s room or the ladies.”

“That sounds like a prospect problem.” Viking lets out a loud, obnoxious belch. “Go get Ford Focus and figure it out.”

“Let em’ all have a drink with us, first.” I say, grabbing a rag to run across the bar, now that all the shots are poured for everyone. “They did good today. Busted their asses making sure everything went smoothly.”

“Thanks, Boss.” Rusty says. I’m too upbeat to correct him again. “But I’ll go see what I can do.” He walks off through the corridor, just as Viper, Chopper and Diesel, join the rest of us.

Viper lets out a sharp whistle, grabbing everyone’s attention.

“So, who guessed Fifty thousand?” he asks.

“Fifty thousand?” I repeat. “No fucking way.”

“You want to recount it?” he shoots me a scalding look in true Viper fashion. “The fuckin’ safe is packed. I’m not counting it a fourth time.”

“We’d have one hell of a night at a strip club, if you want to skim some off the top.” Chopper jokes.

“Damn,” Axel’s proud smile is as wide and bright as ever. “That’s twenty thousand more than last year!”

“And you get to hand them the check this time, bro.” I smile back at him. I can tell he’s moved by the gesture, this MC and its purpose literally being Axel’s life’s mission for a majority of his existence.

Cherry passes out the first round of double shots to everyone, while I make Vanna up a drink to join us in our celebration.

“A Shirley Temple?” she takes the glass from me.

“The first drink we shared together. Can you guess why I ordered one that night, as well?” I wink at her.

A little smile curves her pretty mouth. “Oh, I have a theory.” She teases me.

Grabbing a napkin, I place it down on the bar for her. “I’d love to hear it.”

“Might it have something to do with, wanting to know what mymouth tastedlike?”

“I’ve always been crazy about you. What can I do?” I shrug.

Her brows pinch slightly together. “You can excuse me to the bathroom for the fifth time in an hour.” She sighs, carefully sliding off the bar stool. “Ace seems to prefer the cushion of my bladder.”

“Alright, I’ll make this quick, since you’ll have to waddle your way down the hall to use the bathroom in my old room.”

“Don’t you dare poke fun at my waddle.” She playfully scolds me. “It’s your fault, anyway!”

“Fuck yeah it is.” I grin back at her, before I turn to my brothers and lift a shot to them in salute.

“Are you excited? In four weeks, baby Ace will be off your bladder and in your arms!” Cherry smiles excitedly at me through the doorway, leaning against Dean’s old dresser as I finish washing my hands.

“Honestly, I’m feeling a little more nervous the closer we get to mid-November.” I say, turning off the faucet and grabbing the hand towel on the edge of the sink to dry off.

“Well, Dean will make sure you get the best of everything.” Cherry assures me. I have no doubts. “Watch them end up having the same birthday! How convenient would that be?”
