“No. You don’t know me.” Legion sighs, as if he’s disappointed. Maybe even bored. “I know I clocked you in that thick skull of yours rather hard, but… Think about everything I’ve done. Everything I’ve said to you.” He scowls at me a little harder as if he’s willing me to remember something…

Those were your words… He had insisted… And he’s right… I did speak those words. Seven years ago, in a grimy dungeon in Gila Bend. That’s why he chose Aaron Hopper… That’s why Legion and his crew use that fucking tag line… He’s been taunting me all this time, with my own words.

“The obvious lengths you’ve gone to hurt me through loved ones… Vanna… Axel… Who are you avenging?” I ask. “This is clearly personal for you, Legion. My last trip to Arizona was rather eventful. And Arson was the very least of my crimes… If you can even call ending a small time pedo ring, a fucking crime.”

His eyes widen for a moment, seemingly in shocked surprise, before he vehemently snaps at me, “Lies!” That perpetual scowl on his demonic face intensifying once again.

“I wish.” I mutter, that cement dungeon with tiny barred windows, forever burned into my memory… But he says nothing now. “Who did I dispatch in the desert that night? And who were they to you, Legion?” I press him. “Was it that kid fucker, Sharky?”

“You’re playing a very dangerous game.” He warns me.

“Or was it King Kiddie Ring himself?” I continue to taunt him. “The fuck did he call himself? Asmodeus? Something Biblical.” I sneer.

“Wrong book. In the Testament of Solomon, Asmodeus is the King of Demons.” Legion replies, though he’s looking less and less amused.

I honestly don’t give a shit. “I took you for a drug dealing, pussy pushing pimp, Legion. Didn’t think you were into kid shit.” He doesn’t say anything, but I can tell he’s seething. “It was your brother, wasn’t it? Those creepy ass grey eyes of yours… He had them, too.”

“My brother wasn’t a kid trafficker!” Legion snaps. “And neither am I. The pussy we peddle is fuckin’ legal. Nobody holds a gun to their cock sucking heads!”

“The drugs you provide them… It keeps them under your boot and compliant though, doesn’t it? Let’s not pretend you’re running homes for wayward girls, you prick. When I took the girl from your brother, he already had her three years… She was barely seventeen… Do the math. She wasn’t there by choice. There was a basement dungeon below that shitty bar... That’s why I broke the gas lines and blew that place sky high… That’s why I left your brother in it to fuckin’ burn.”

“What girl?”

“The little red head.”

“I know of no such girl!” Something in his tone, actually sounds like he isn’t lying.

“What about the others?”

“Do you think spitting falsehoods is going to save your life?” He demands, pointing that blade at me again. Though I can’t help but notice, it’s with a lot less conviction.

“You really had no idea… No clue what your brother was involved in?” I ask. “You set out to dismantle my fucking life… to hurt Axel and destroy Vanna-”

“I never meant for any harm to come to Vanna!” he shouts at me, his tone wrought with discernable regret now.

Did Legion really mean for her to be spared that night? Why? He has to know she’s the key to my destruction. Does he actually care for her? Did Aaron Hopper go fucking rogue on Legion?

Fuck… I need to wreck him, if I’m going to get out of this alive. Vanna may just be my saving grace, yet again.

“She was screaming… begging for your fucking minion to get off of her!” I shout at him. “You did that to her!”

Legion steps closer to me, curses hissing through gritted teeth, his knife still pointed at my chest. He’s emotional... Lucinda, Marie Delai, they weren’t lying, and I wasn’t wrong… He does have feelings for her, at least to some degree.

I use his lapse in judgment to my miniscule advantage, hoisting myself up by my arms and twisting quickly to swing my legs, slamming the knife out of his grip with my foot. Using every bit of strength I’ve got, I twist back the other way and nail him with a kick to the side of his face, rocking him sideways.

He staggers back, gripping his jaw. I can see the rage blazing in his eyes as he turns back to face me, picking up the knife. But before he can attack me, the sound of motorcycles rumbling in the distance, halts him. Someone outside bangs on the shed, calling out that they need to get the fuck out of here.

“Fuck!” Legion hisses, wiping the blood from the cut on his jaw. “I’ll kill your brother for this!”

“I guess that isn’t your crew.” I smile.

“You think you’ve escaped… What you don’t realize, Keegan, is that if you’re lying about my brother, you already dug your own grave in the desert that night, seven years ago… And I’m going to take everything from you… When you’re no longer the hero she thinks you are… When I drive her from your arms… That sexy little smirk of hers… hot enough to light my fuckin’ cigarette… It’ll be mine.”

“What?” I glower back at him.

“Vanna’s heart. I’m taking everything you value most in this world. And I’m going to dismantle it all… Except her… Your precious little Peony… I’m going to pluck her from your life and keep her for myself. Your woman and your fuckin’ kid, will both be calling me, Daddy.”

“The fuck they will.” If there’s one thing in this fucked up world I trust, it’s Vanna’s love and loyalty to me. “I’m not lying about your brother.” I tell him, watching as he backs towards the door. “And when you learn the truth, will this misguided revenge ride be over between us?”
