She hesitates again for a moment, before answering with a reluctant, “I don’t know.”
“You ask everything of me, and offer me nothing in return.”
“Dean…”
“No, Lucinda… You almost got us killed… Your black, jealous, callous heart, almost cost us our lives.” I snarl at her. “I need to know, for what? Why would Legion throw in with you? Are you fucking him, too?”
“I told you... He told me to get him Vanna’s information… That he’d run her out of town for me… That’s it. I had no idea he would take things so far… I’m sorry, Dean… If I could take it all back, I would.”
“If you want a prayer, that I would even consider pissing on you, if you were on fire, after what you’ve done… You better tell me everything you know about Legion. Fuckin’. Everything.”
“He’s got it in for the Saviors.”
“Tell me something I don’t know!” I’m losing what little patience I have for her.
“He seems to have a particular disdain for you.”
“Why?”
“I don’t know.”
“Where is he?”
“I don’t know.”
“Then you’re useless to me.” I turn to walk away from her, but she grabs my arm in desperation.
“Dean, please… I’ll do anything. We need your help… Maddie… Think about Maddie, please.” She begs. I say nothing. “I’ll do anything.” She reiterates, her face shifting past me to look at Vanna waiting in the distance near Serene. “I’ll apologize to Vanna personally, I’ll-”
“You’ll stay the fuck away from Vanna!” I snarl in her face, startling her as she releases my arm and jumps back from me. I continue my advance towards her, backing her up against a picnic table until she’s leaning back on it. I shove her glasses up her face to rest them on top of her head, looking in her eyes, which are wide with fear. I don’t care. To my own surprise, I’m fighting the temptation to wrap my hand around her throat and squeeze until her eyes turn red. “I don’t want you anywhere near her. Do you understand me? Don’t even look in Vanna’s direction.” I warn her. She’s silent. That bottom lip quivering, chin wobbling as she stares up at me. “Treacherous bitch.” I can’t help but spit the words at her.
“I think… I think he’s in love with her.” She whispers on a shaky breath.
“What?”
“Legion…”
“The fuck are you talking about?”
She swallows hard before she speaks, “There’s a room… at least, there was… in his private office at the Demons’ Den… It’s more like a small closet he keeps locked at all times… I caught a glimpse of it... Months ago.” I continue to glare at her, willing the thundering blood in my ears to subside. I can feel my pulse in my neck as rage begins to build within me. “It’s… it’s some kind of altar… Witchcraft of some kind or something… I don’t even know for sure… But he’s dark, Dean. He’s frightening.”
I step back from her, having to take a deep breath and force my jaw to unclench before I can tell her to, “Be more specific.”
She nods her head slightly, replacing her sunglasses as she pushes herself up from the table and straightens. “Lots of candles, shaped like people, half melted… and bound together with twine… Bones and skulls of different animals… Symbols streaked all over the walls inside… I don’t know what they are… And her… her picture… right in the center of it all…”
“Vanna?”
“Yes… He… he kneels before it… and… and cuts himself... Touches her photo, and the figures with his blood…”
What the literal fuck…
“He doesn’t know I’ve seen as much as I have.” She suddenly adds. “But he’s dark and he’s dangerous… His whole crew is afraid of him. I never should have pushed Daniel to join his crew… It’s just that no other MC would take him… And we didn’t know. I should have known something more was up with Legion when he immediately accepted your brother. What did you do to him?”
“What did I do?” her words take me by surprise. “I don’t even know the motherfucker.”
“Well, that’s all I know.”
“What makes you say he’s got it in for me?”
