“Yup. I’m very efficient.” Rising onto tiptoe, I tilted my face to his. “Ask me again.”

His brow furrowed, and it took him a hot minute to figure out what I meant, but when he did, his smile eclipsed the sun. “Miriam Mitzi Feldman, will you go on a date with me?”

“Yes, Laurent Huff ’n’ Puff Amar. I’d love to.”

He swung me into his arms. “We’re going to have sex now. That’s not the date.”

“What kind of woman do you take me for? We do this in the correct order or not at all.”

His mouth fell open, and he hurriedly set me on my feet, sputtering that he didn’t mean to insult me, by which point I was openly laughing. His nostrils flared. “I am no longer in the mood.”

I grinned. “Yeah you are.”

“Yeah. I am.” With that he threw me over his shoulder and loped into his bedroom.
