“We have to bail, but this is good stuff,” Gideon said to the people on the screens.

“Yeah, well, I sure wouldn’t have put it together if Jada hadn’t mentioned that Risk Guard was also working with different correctional facilities to update their mechanized locking systems,” Clint said.

Gideon looked over at Jada, once again amazed at how her brain worked. “I told you she was good at this.”

“She should go to work for my old company,” Kane said. “I already told Bruce all about her.” He turned his attention toward Jada. “Seriously, Jada, you could work full-time from anywhere you want, and the pay and benefits would be outstanding.”

“It’s something to consider,” Gideon prompted. “You could move out of that New York hovel that you call a home.”

Jada glared at Gideon then turned her attention to Kane. “Thanks, Kane. It’s definitely something to think about. But right now, my job will be consisting of doing diapers for the next twenty-four hours.”

“Huh? I thought Gideon was potty-trained,” Dex said.

“We’re going to watch our Godson, you ass,” Gideon explained. “Sebastian is going to be here any minute.”

“Okay, then, we’ll sign off,” Clint said as Lydia waved at the screen.

Every screen went dark and Gideon turned his chair so he could study Jada. “That was really good work. It helped explain what Bonham was working on.”

“The only thing is, somebody had to download the worm at the facility before they were able to get it to function.” Jada shook her head as she got up from her chair and headed out to the great room. Lucy got up from her doggie bed and looked at the two of them expectantly.

“Are you ready to play guard-dog again?” Gideon asked his big Russian terrier.

Lucy perked up even more and headed to the front door.

“It’s like she knows that Sebastian is bringing Neil.”

“She was fascinated by him the last time we babysat,” Gideon said. “Do you want anything from the kitchen?” he asked as he headed to the fridge.

“A glass of water.” Neither she nor Gideon liked proliferating the world with additional water bottles when re-using glasses or filling up their own water bottles was just as easy.

“Got it,” he replied.

The doorbell rang.

Woof. Woof. Woof.

“Settle,” Jada said softly, and Lucy plopped down on her butt and stopped barking.

“Good girl,” Jada patted her head as she went by her to open the door for Sebastian. She stuffed down the giggle when she again saw the khaki baby carrier strapped to the front of Sebastian, cuddling his son close to his chest. Neil had already managed to curl up next to Daddy in the few yards that it took Sebastian to walk from the car to the house. Besides carrying Neil and a diaper bag over his shoulder, he was holding a portable playpen in his right hand and a baby walker in his left.

“Shit, man, did you leave anything at home?” Gideon asked as he came to the door.

“Yeah, my wife,” Sebastian said as he shoved the playpen at Gideon. “And I want to get back to her as soon as possible. If I timed everything right, I have eighteen minutes to pick up the food from Il Giardino’s then get it home and plated.”

“Plated? Did I hear you say plated? When did you ever work in a restaurant?” Gideon wanted to know.

“Gianna’s been making me watch episodes of Iron Chef. She’s convinced she can learn to cook.”

“God no! Don’t let her near the kitchen!” Jada rushed over to Sebastian and held out her hands for Neil.

“Don’t I know it? Her idea of making nachos is pre-sliced cheddar cheese nuked on top of chips,” Sebastian said as he started to unbuckle the baby carrier and Neil started to wake up. His beautiful green eyes began to focus on the world around him.

“So, what else did she put on the nachos?” Gideon asked.

“Nothing,” Sebastian and Jada said in unison.
