“What?” Immediately Sebastian was alert, all panic was gone. There it was, that was what made Sebastian Durand a damn fine Navy SEAL, he understood when something was really wrong and he immediately changed gears.

“I won’t get into it, but I’ve got something.”

“Is the team heading out?”

“No. As a matter of fact, I’m going to need some PTO.”

“Damn, you’re in charge, this has to be big.”

“Right now we’re focusing on you. I’m calling Jase and Mateo. They’ll be over before you get Gianna in the car.”

“Isn’t that overkill? I mean, Jase?”

Gideon snorted. “I’m thinking overkill is appropriate at this point. Plus he has his bike, he’ll make it in minutes. Get my Godson and your wife loaded up, and they’ll be there to drive.”

He heard Sebastian heave out a sigh of relief.

“Thanks.”

“Go,” Gideon commanded.

Sebastian hung up, and Gideon immediately started making calls.

* * *

After he was done gettingeverything arranged for Sebastian, he looked to see if he could hack into Jada’s computer, but he wasn’t holding out much hope. He gave himself twenty minutes, then wrote a down-and-dirty script and let it start to run so he could concentrate on the next steps.

They weren’t great steps.

He swiped his thumb over his number one contact and hit send. Even though Kostya was in Northern California getting loved up with his now-fiancée Lark Sorensen, Gideon knew he would answer.

“Talk to me.”

“I’ve got a problem.”

“Figured.” Kostya’s tone was mild.

Yep, loved up.

“It’s Jada Harlow. I think she’s in real trouble. An hour ago I just briefed Commander Clark on a MOUT training op with a lot of bells and whistles at Fort Knox. He approved us moving out tomorrow.”

“Will Nolan and Tanner be back in time?”

“Yep.”

“Sounds like a good plan. Nolan or Jase could lead if you need to bail.”

“No need. Commander Clark said he wanted to go.”

“Simon?” Kostya’s voice held surprise.

“Yep. I laid out my plan and he said it sounded like fun.”

“Let me guess, you were going to screw with their heads.” Gideon could almost see Kostya’s grin on the other end of the phone.

“Maybe,” Gideon drawled.

“No wonder Simon wanted in. Okay, does it have to be you to rig up everything, or can someone else on the team do the twists and turns?”
