He looked down at Gwendolyn. Linc now had her covered in a Mylar blanket. “Nolan, I want the other American biologists out here, stat.”

“Got it,” he said as he left the vehicle.

The sooner he could get all of the scientists out of the firing line, the better.

“You need me to show you what needs to be destroyed.” There was fire in the doctor’s eyes.

“Who will know how to replicate what has been done here?” Kostya demanded to know.

“Grigor is hoarding the information. I really think he’s scared of Anfisa. I think he knows that his usefulness will be over the day he finishes the project.”

“Get her to explain exactly what’s going on.” Gideon’s voice was tense. “I find it hard to believe that Moscow wasn’t monitoring every move that Grigor made, even if he thought he was hiding it.”

“I agree,” Kostya said.

Nolan stepped into the back of the vehicle carrying Iris Robinson. Behind him came Harold Rice, then Sebastian helped Ted Harper up into the back. He made his way over to the doctor as fast as he could.

“Thank God, I thought you were dead,” he cried out.

Kostya left them to their reunion. “Nolan, stay with all of them. Sebastian and Linc, come with me.” He slammed the door shut behind them.

How could the wind and snow be even worse than it was minutes ago?

He spoke into his mic even though the two men were huddled around him.

“We go in, we round up everybody, I want them all secured. I want to find Grigor and Anfisa. Got it?”

They nodded and said yes at the same time.

“Mateo, are they all still asleep?” Kostya asked.

“I’ve been going back and forth, and yep, still no sign of movement.”

“Linc, you’re going to the north door. I want another baby blast. You enter there.”

“Landon,” Kostya started.

“Lovebirds are secured and silenced,” he answered before Kostya could ask.

“Ryker?”

“Where do you want me?”

“You and I will take the south end along with Landon. Sebastian and Linc will take the north end of the hallway. Mateo, as soon as Linc and Sebastian enter, go to the computer outbuilding. I want everybody taken alive. Everybody have their orders?”

Again he received nothing but affirmatives, and they were off.

“Kostya,” Gideon spoke in his ear. “If what the doctor said is true, I need to check the computers. We need to know what they were working on, and hell, maybe there was some stuff that wasn’t transmitted to Russia.”

Kostya would have bet against it, except you never bet on a mission.

“Is there any way you can talk one of us through finding out?” Kostya asked. It would take at least one hour for Gideon to get here, if not two. Then there was the off chance that someone would come across the SUSI and Gideon wouldn’t be there to protect their vehicle.

“No,” Gideon answered. “I need to be the one to do it.”

“Then get here.”

“Leaving now.”
