“The white-haired fuck?”
I nod, swallowing. “Draco knows where I am. He found Thorne, and Thorne had found me.”
“He sold you out?” Ryker whispers in a question.
“No!”
Ryker pulls back from my heated outburst.
“Thorne always knows where I am. We-We are blood bonded.”
“You blood bonded with one of the world’s most dangerous vampire clans?” Ryker’s father snaps.
Not smart on my part, I know. It was the only thing that kept us both alive…“Will explain more later. He knows where I am and is after me.”
Ryker’s father looks like he doesn’t believe me, but Ryker looks down at me with his soft, pink eyes. “Hazen, go get Ozias and Jigsaw. Tell them it’s time to go.” I hear Hazen run down the hall. “Maybe if we leave, then they will follow. We can throw them off our trail.”
I nod.
“So, you are just going to leave again?” Christopher, Ryker’s father, says. “You are going to leave your duties for some girl who puts you in danger?”
He wasn’t wrong. My lips part.Maybe I should go by myself, so no one else would get hurt.
“I never wanted to be King, Atar. Pick someone else like we discussed!”
My brows pull together. “Atar? What is that? What does that mean?”
Ryker looks at me and then sighs. “Atar? It’s father in fae? Why is that important?”
“The throne will be mine, Atar.” The masked girl whose voice flickers in my head is Evara’s. That’s what she said before killing Fenric.
“Evara…” I whisper to him. “She called my dad that. Atar. Evara isn’t working for the daughter of the Devil.”
Ryker’s face lights up. “She is it. She’s your sister, the lost fae.”
“What—” Christopher starts.
A blast hits the side of the castle, sending everyone in the room flying. My back hits the wall, then my side hits the tile floor. A high-pitched noise fills my ears as I try to look up. Dust and debris are flying around the air, making it very hard to see. I can’t see where Ryker is and don’t know if Ledger is alive.
Boots stomp down right in front of me, causing me to look up until I get to the black gaze of…Draco. He kneels beside me, tilting his head. “Hello, darling.”
