“Excuse me,” a woman yelled at her ear over the music, startling Lyric.

She was beautiful. Long, red hair, piercing green eyes, and her makeup was fierce to match the tight, black dress hugging her curves.

“Yes, can I help you?” Lyric yelled.

“Bathroom.” The woman danced from foot to foot in heels Lyric would never be able to walk in if she had them on.

“Oh, sure.” Lyric turned and pointed in the direction of the restroom located just off the side of the hallway Paolo had disappeared down.

The woman danced some more, stretching her neck to see where Lyric was pointing. “I don’t see it,” she finally said.

“Oh, don’t worry. I’ll take you.” She fought her way back through the crowd, hoping the woman was in tow. But when Lyric looked back, she didn’t see her. Lyric doubled back into the crowd, standing on her tiptoes. Big mistake. She was pushed toward the club's door and then pinned against it as something pinched her neck.

“Oh, there you are,” the woman who asked her for the restroom whispered in her ear. The next thing Lyric knew, the woman had opened the door and was carrying Lyric out of Night Shade.

“Come on, girl, you’ve had one too many. It’s time to get you home.” She heard the woman say, but Lyric couldn’t speak.

What’s happening? Why can’t I move? Someone help!

Lyric screamed as she felt herself being taken away from the club. She couldn’t hold her head up, catch eye contact with anyone, or yell for help to Paolo’s men manning the door.

Why would this woman she didn’t even know do this? How would Paolo find her when no one even knew she was missing? All these questions floated around in Lyric’s head as the woman continued to drag her into the unknown.
