One of the guys outside gave her a smile as she grabbed the door handle. Unable to help herself, she smiled back. If she didn’t need to get back to Morry before the woman had a coronary, she would’ve seen if she could take this guy up on his wordless offer. Unfortunately, one night usually turned into two, which turned into a week, and she couldn’t get caught in that trap.
The air was thick with smoke and the scent of stale booze. It was magnificent and reminded her of the biker club on Morry’s land. It was this strange mix of a traditional biker club and a hole-in-the-wall bar. With Morry at the helm, she made sure everyone had all the booze they could drink and a warm body to fuck. Now, if someone had an issue, then that person was kept on a tight leash. You learned very quickly that Morry didn’t let you shy away from what you were addicted to. Morry did things that would make a traditional rehab facility faint, like making you face the shit you were addicted to everyday. The thing was, I wouldn’t be alive without her and her unusual brand of help and for that I’d forever be grateful.
Maeve made her way over to the bar and waited for the pretty girl to come and take her order.
“What can I get ya,” the cute redhead asked. Maeve’s eyes naturally drifted to the plaid shirt that was open a couple of buttons too many. The girl’s tits were pressed up high, giving her a perfect view—it was most likely a view that had earned her extra tips many nights.
“You still have food?”
“I think the only thing we have left is some fries and maybe a few wings, darlin’.”
“I’ll take whatever you have. I’m starved.” Maeve licked her lips, and her eyes found the waitress’s lush tits again.
The girl blushed but didn’t acknowledge the blatant flirting. “Did you want something to drink?”
Leaning on the bar, Maeve smiled. “I have a tendency to get naughty when I drink, so I better stick to soda.”
“That’s a shame. I like naughty,” she said, giving her a wink.
Hell yeah, this night was looking better by the second.
No, you’re supposed to be good. Can’t you stay focused for two seconds on the job?
She ground her teeth together as the battle of logic and desire warred it out like a WWE match in her brain. The door opened, and she looked over her shoulder to see quiet-guy walking in. Why the room seemed smaller all of a sudden, she had no idea, but her heart picked up the pace as the light of the room gave her a solid view of the hard line of his masculine jaw.
He wandered in her direction but veered off toward one of the booths. She watched him and thought she might get a good look at him when he took off his hat, but he left it on and slid to the far side of the booth. Once more, he was hidden amongst the shadows, and it seemed like it was the most natural place for him to be. She suddenly had the urge to make the guy jealous, which was ridiculous since he could be married or not into girls. Both of those only made her want to try and win him over more. She was so fucked in the head sometimes, but oh well.
The bartender weaved her way through the dozen people on the dance floor and smiled as she closed in. “You’re in luck. We have a little of everything left from our starter platter. The cook said he will toss whatever is left in for you.”
“Thank you.” Maeve took a sip of the soda that was placed in front of her.
The fizziness was tasty but not quite what she was craving until… She glanced up from the drink and met the bartender’s eyes just as her tongue tasted the distinct bite of alcohol.
“Like I said, I like naughty,” the bartender whispered.
“What are you doing when you get off work,” Maeve asked, going out on a limb.
“I’m keeping my options open, but I know what I’d like to be doing.” She smirked, and Maeve watched the bartender walk away.
Her ass really looked good in a tight pair of jeans.
One of the guys at the other end of the bar called out for another drink by banging his mug down like it was some medieval bar. She rolled her eyes and then looked at those occupying the dance floor. There weren’t many other options, couples included. But couples weren’t a deterrent. She’d been the third many times, and being with two people just added another layer of fun. Especially when one wasn’t into it, the challenge of changing their mind was a thrill.
Prying her eyes away from the cowboys with their quick feet, belt buckles and cowboy hats was a chore, but she managed and quickly looked for a booth. She only found one that was open, and it was next to quiet-guy. She could feel his eyes on her, and she stared a little longer than she should have, but something about him was still giving her the heebie-jeebies. He hadn’t done a single thing to warrant the sensation, but it was still there.
However, bad feeling or not, she still needed a place to sit. Grabbing her drink, she wandered over to the empty booth and slid in to wait for the food. It didn’t take long before another waitress made her way over with a tray.
“Is all this for you?” the waitress said.
“I guess so.” Maeve stared at the six plates of food and started calculating the cost in her head. Shit, she may be giving a manager a blow job to get out of paying for all this. Washing dishes wasn’t her style. Besides, it took a lot longer.
“Hey,” the same deep voice from earlier said.
Quiet-guy.
Looking up, she forced herself not to squirm at the sound that could set any woman’s panties on fire.
“Hey yourself.” She stared at him, almost immediately getting lost in his most unusual colored eyes. They were like staring into a glass of brandy and were just as intoxicating as the drink itself.
