Unole held the phone toward Wolf. She wanted to vomit as his eyes looked at the screen. His face didn’t change, but she felt dirty. Unole swung the video back in her direction, so she was once more forced to stare into her own eyes.

“See, she’s not who you think she is. There are countless numbers of these with the hashtag, unknown fuck friends. I’m telling you she was teasing me. She wanted me to fuck her.”

“I wasn’t hitting on you, and no, I don’t want to fuck you.” Reaching out, she snatched the phone from his hand. “Who I was is no business of yours. Stop playing this.”

Heart beating frantically, a strange panic clawed at her throat.

“Don’t! You’re going to damage my phone,” he said and tried to take it back, but she stepped away and kept hitting the stop button until it finally turned off.

She wanted to crush the phone, but it wasn’t the phone that was the issue. That video and apparently others were out there for the world to see. Forever. Her stomach flipped. She’d never be able to walk down a street without thinking the person staring at her had seen one of these.

“Once a slut, always a slut, you can deny it all you want, but—”

Wolf's fist connected with Unole’s face before she even had time to register his movement. Unole stumbled back and fell on his ass with a loud thud. Maeve quickly grabbed Duke again as he went to leap on the fallen man.

“No, Duke.” The dog listened, but Wolf was not so easily calmed. He looked like he was the one snarling as he hauled Unole to his feet and dragged him outside, only to throw him off the deck. Unole yelled before hitting the ground with a thump.

Maeve ran out the door behind them and threw the phone at Unole. She managed to hit him in the middle of the chest. He stumbled to his feet. The corner of his mouth was bleeding, and he looked dazed, but his eyes were angry as they fixed on her.

“You’re fired! Get off my property, and don’t ever come back. If you ever come near me again, I’ll bury you someplace only our ancestors can find.” Wolf’s voice was lethal as he spoke.

“You’re both crazy. I didn’t do anything wrong,” he said, limping toward his truck.

“Get off my land now before I change my mind and shoot you.”

Maeve grabbed Wolf’s arm, the muscles bulging under her hands. “Don’t. He’s not worth it. You said you don’t want to draw attention to us,” she whispered so only Wolf could hear.

She turned her glare on Unole.

“Have fun jerking off to something you’ll never have,” she yelled and then looked up at Wolf. He lifted a brow at her. “What? It’s true.”

Unole slammed his truck door shut, turned the truck around, and peeled out of the driveway. As soon as she couldn’t see the truck anymore, she turned her attention to Wolf, who was still staring after the truck. He looked like he was debating about changing his mind and chasing after the guy to finish the job.

“I swear I wasn’t flirting with him,” Maeve said and squeezed Wolf’s arm to break his focus.

Wolf grabbed her face and crashed his lips on hers. He pushed her back into the wall, and she moaned into his mouth. She’d never been kissed like this, and she melted under his touch. Everything about him consumed her senses. The touch of his hands on her skin was fire, the taste of his lips was rich, and the presence of his aura was all-consuming.

Gaining some semblance of her sanity, she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back with equal passion. Wolf deepened the kiss, their tongues locked in a battle as they explored one another’s mouth thoroughly for the first time. She couldn’t help running her fingers through his hair. It was softer than she imagined. She gave it a gentle tug earning herself a groan from Wolf as he pressed his body into her a little harder.

The kiss was desperate as if they couldn’t get close enough and the breath of air separating them was still too much. Sliding her hands down his body, she savored the feel of his muscular form before fumbling with the bottom of the T-shirt he was wearing.

She moaned as he sucked on her lip and her hands found his heated skin. Wolf was the only person she’d ever met that was able to soothe the wild that lived inside her and light a fire brighter than she’d ever felt before, all at the same time.

Her heart was pounding hard as Wolf broke the kiss and leaned on his arm above her head. She didn’t want this to end and wrapped her arms around his waist, holding him in place as she placed kisses along his jaw. He hadn’t yet shaved, and she loved the rough five o’clock shadow he had going on.

“You swear you weren’t flirting,” he asked, his voice gravelly and sending shivers down her spine.

“Yes, I swear. I wouldn’t lie to you about something like that.” She looked up into his eyes and swallowed hard with the intensity that was gazing back at her.

“Good.” He lowered his head to her ear. “Because if you think you want me, then you should know….” Lifting his head, he softly nipped her lip, never taking his eyes off hers. “I don’t share.”

Wolf pushed away from her and went inside, leaving her panting against the wall like a sopping, wanton mess. If it didn’t already feel like a hundred degrees outside, it sure as hell did now. Her knees were shaking as she fixed her shirt and smoothed out her hair. What the heck just happened? The better question was, how did she get him to do it again?

Wolf stompedinto the house and closed the door to the bathroom to calm down before he put his fist through the wall. He cracked his knuckles as he pictured slamming them into Unole’s face over and over until he was unrecognizable. He closed his eyes and took a steadying breath. He never lost control like that. What the fuck had he just done?

He not only lost control with Unole, but he crossed the line again with Maeve. Why the hell was it so hard to keep a professional distance where she was concerned?
