“You make me feel worthy of being loved,” she whispered.

“You’re more than worthy. You’re the walking embodiment of grace and beauty. My hands are dirtied with a darkness I’ll never be rid of, but you are this warm light that fills me with goodness.”

Arek ran his knuckles along her cheek, and her body shivered at the gentle touch. This was dangerous. Her heart would undoubtedly pay for this, but she didn’t care.

Raising up on her toes, she laid a soft kiss on his lips and savored the shuddering reaction she received in return. “I can offer you tonight, but after that, I don’t know.”

That teasing glint was back in his eyes, making her heartbeat triple in time.

“One night is all I need to convince you to stay.”

Oh boy, what had she just agreed to?
