Laughing and crying at the same time, I nod my head crazily. “Yes, yes, yes.” I throw my arms around him, and Nicky says she knew it was going to happen all along. He kisses me then, and it’s several heavenly beats, while I’m lost in his sensual world before I realize that roaring in my ears is actually people cheering.

He releases me from his kiss, but not his hold as cameras flash all around us and people crowd around, thump him on the back, kiss my cheek, shake our hands and give Nicky all the hugs and kisses she can handle.

Logan leans into me after the uproar dies down and says, “I couldn’t let it go. I needed you to know I’m committed. I needed to let everyone know who you really are to me, especially Nicky.” He clears his throat, and his eyes burn into mine as he holds me tight against his hard body. “I bought that ring for you six years ago.”

Time stops. The world stops spinning, but my head spins instead.

“You… I never knew… when? Were you—”

“It doesn’t matter now, does it?” He smiles. “So, what if my timing was a little off?”

Tears pop into my eyes, and my chest tightens and swells as a well of warmth fills me making me feel like I’m floating like gravity stopped working. Emotions bubble to the surface, overwhelming me until I can’t hold it in, until the only thing I feel is love so painful, so blissful I can hardly bear it, but I grasp onto it, knowing I’ll never let it go.

“I love you so much, Logan.”

“I love you so much, Junie.” His voice crackles with intensity and strength. Nicky hugs her small arms around both of us as we stand in the middle of a crowd.

Tears run down my cheeks, and I don’t even care. He smiles and gently wipes some away, but I stop him, holding his hand. “Let them be. These are happy tears.”
