“Wonderful. I’ll call Tommy, see if they have plans. One way or the other, I’m very much looking forward to seeing you, buying you a drink.”
“Talking me off a ledge? Making sure I’m not making some horrible mistake? I worry, Clint.” He had no regrets, but he’d been decidedly alone.
“Mistakes happen. You know that, but happiness does too.”
He nodded. “It does. I know your librarian; he floats by regularly.” He liked to tease Clint about his long-time lover.
“Yes. He and I have an agreement that makes for a lovely situation.”
“I look forward to seeing you later, and to introducing you to Harley, who I hope will be my regular guest for a while.”
“My fingers are crossed, friend. I will see you tonight.”
“Thank you, Clint.” He hung up the phone knowing full well there would be more of this conversation at a later time, but there was little point in asking Clint’s thoughts regarding this relationship without Clint having seen them together yet, let alone about a boy he hadn’t even met.
He finished his coffee and grabbed another one before Harley wandered in, snuggling into his back. “Mornin’.”
“Mm.” So sexy, his Harley. So sensual. Winter slid a hand along the arms that encircled his waist. “Good morning. How did you sleep?”
“Like a log that had amazing orgasms.”
“Oh, that is a happy log. I can relate. Are you sore? I have Ibuprofen in the bathroom.” Poor boy would feel well used for the day, he was quite sure.
“I have a bit of a twinge. I sort of like it.” Harley winked at him.
He turned and kissed Harley’s cheek. “I have to confess, I like to hear that. Somehow it makes me feel…taller.”
“Mmm… Kiss me good morning, lover.” Harley’s expression was one of pure joy.
“With pleasure.” He caught Harley’s jaw in his fingers and pulled their lips together, offering a lazy morning kiss.
Harley was minty-fresh, cuddly, and sporting morning wood. How pleasant.
“Would you like some coffee? We could drink it in the sunshine on the balcony and scandalize my neighbors with a snuggle.” He didn’t really think they’d scandalize anyone unless Harley went out naked.
Which would be nice, but even he had boundaries.
“Sounds utterly perfect. I mean it. You need another cup too?”
“I just topped mine off, thank you.” He moved out of Harley’s way. His tiny kitchen didn’t make romance easy. “I’ll go open the balcony doors.”
He wandered through his living room and opened the doors, then found the balcony chaise cushions and set them out. They could share; he didn’t think Harley would mind.
“Mmm… It’s chilly. Can I snuggle?” Harley cradled his mug, sipping deep.
“Of course.” He sat deep into the chaise and raised his knees, giving Harley a place to sit and access to snuggle against him. “There’s a blanket there, too. Grab it.”
“Yes, sir.” Harvey put his coffee down and got them arranged, covered and close together.
“Oh, very nice.” He tucked an arm around Harley. “Later today I want to try my new brushes out. What do you think? Before we go to the club?”
“Sounds good. They look different, hmm? Sexy.” Harley rested hard against him.
“I adore them. They look so stylish. I bet they will feel good in my hand.” He nuzzled Harley’s hair, content just to sit and sip coffee. “The club is owned and run by a man named Clint; he’s a friend, and I look up to him. He’s invited us to sit with him at his table tonight.”
“Yeah? That’s cool. I’ll have to wash my good shirt today and iron it.”
“You can use my machine. I have a little stacked unit in the closet in the bathroom. But don’t stress it; they’re going to love you whatever you wear. Just show them your smile, and you’ll be dressed up enough.” And his eyes. Harley was going to be so lovely. “I bet Sam will wear his cowboy hat. Thomas likes it.”
