Even with hours to think about what he would say to her, how he would break the news to her that her life was in danger, he was still no closer to figuring it out. Unfortunately, he was out of time as the first rays of sunlight broke through the trees.

The female moaned as she stretched out on the ground. The light that was surrounding her as she slept, slowly receded back into the ground. By the time her eyes opened, there was no sign of the colourful lights that had encased her.

Arun waited until she’d finished her morning routine before moving from his hiding spot. As soon as he stood up, her eyes shot to him, pinning him to the spot.

Several emotions raced across her face before she was able to pull on a mask of indifference. He expected the anger, fear, and surprise. What he hadn’t expected was the flicker of desire he’d seen in her eyes.

She finds me attractive,he inwardly smiled.Well, the feeling is mutual, my love.

Arun quickly suppressed the smile that wanted to creep across his face. She obviously didn’t want him to know, otherwise she wouldn’t have hidden her feelings. So, he kept the knowledge to himself.

From the second he’d laid eyes on her… hell, from the moment he heard her sweet voice in his mind, he’d been fighting his attraction toher. It was only right she suffered the same fate.

“It’s pervy to watch someone sleep.” She gave him a scathing look before turning her back to him. “What? No reply?”

When he still didn’t say anything, she turned back to glare daggers at him.

Arun held his hands up to show her that he came in peace and slowly began walking towards her. She instantly put her hands up in defence.

“Didn’t you get the hint yesterday?” she asked. “You can stop right there.”

“I come in peace,” he spoke calmly, hoping she wouldn’t attack him again, but prepared for if she did.

“Yeah, yeah, as if I haven’t heard that one before,” she sneered.

“I’m telling you the truth,” he assured her. “I mean you no harm.”

“What do you want, then?” she asked.

“Just to warn you…”

“About what?” she interrupted. “And make it quick because I’ve got things to do.”

How the hell was he supposed to tell her that she was endangering herself without her thinking he was there to harm her? By performing the spell, she was calling all manner of trouble her way. Would she even believe him if he told her? Probably not, but he really hoped so.

“Well?” she demanded.

“Impatient, aren’t you?”

“When I have a creepyfaekeeping me from…”

The way she said the word ‘fae’ told him exactly how she felt about his kind, but it was the way she broke off at the end that made the hairs on his arms stand up. He would wager that whatever he was keeping her from, had something to do with what he’d come to warn her about.

“Keeping you from what?” he asked when she didn’t continue.

“It doesn’t matter,” she told him. “Just say what you’ve come to say, and then leave me the fuck alone.”

Arun couldn’t do that. He would tell her what he’d come to tell her, but he wasn’t going to leave once he was finished. Even if she assured him that she would stop, he wasn’t going anywhere until he knew for certain.

“Well?” she repeated, sounding more annoyed by the second.

Arun sighed. “By doing the spell, you are putting yourself in danger.”

“What spell?” she asked defensively. “I don’t know anything about spells.”

Arun gave her an irritated look. “Don’t play dumb, you know exactly what I’m talking about.”

The female grimaced. “How do you know about the spell?”
