Dain watched them out of the corner of his eye. Taredd knew he was trying to be discrete about it, but Taredd could tell he was watching how they were interacting.
Once Natalia was asleep later that night, Taredd knew Dain was going to ask if he intended on mating with Natalia. A week ago, he would have laughed in Dain's face at the mention of mating with a Human. Now, he was more than eager to seal the deal with Natalia, tying her life to his for all eternity.
But before that could happen, he needed to speak with her. There was no way he would mate with her if it wasn't something that she wanted. He hadn't asked her if she had a mate… or husband as the Humans called it… because at first, he hadn't cared. Then after they spent the night together, he was afraid to ask for fear the answer was yes.
Now though, he had no choice. He wanted… needed… to know that she was his and his alone. Only then would he bring up the subject of mating with her.
He also needed to speak with Arun to see if there was anything, he could do with his magic to extend Natalia's life to that of his own. Otherwise he would eventually lose her. There was no way in hell he was going to let that happen.
If Arun couldn't help him, then he would search all the realms for someone who could.
