CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR
Taredd
"Will this room do for you?" Taredd asked as he followed her into the room.
From the look on her face, he knew straight away that something was wrong with it.
"Yep, this will do nicely, thank you," Natalia said, looking around the room. "But there's only one bed, so where are you going to sleep? Do you have the room next door or something?"
"Nope, if I need to sleep, I will be sharing the bed with you,” he told her.
"Urm, no, I don't think so,” she said, shaking her head.
And there it was, the problem she had with the room, was the fact it only had the one bed. Before she even opened her mouth, Taredd knew it was because there was only one bed.
Admittedly, he should have known she wouldn't be happy about sharing the bed with him, but it honestly hadn't crossed his mind when he asked for one room that the Shapeshifter would give them a room with one bed in it.
Luckily enough for them, it was a king-sized bed, so they would both be able to fit on it without a struggle. Taredd's feet would end up hanging off the end, but there weren’t many beds where that didn't happen to him.
"Urm, yes, I think so,” he said, copying her as he nodded his head.
"There is no way in hell that I'm sleeping in a bed with you,” she said adamantly.
"You're more than welcome to sleep on the floor if you would like?" he offered.
Natalia looked down at the wooden floor boards before looking back up at him. He could see from her face before she even opened her mouth that she wasn't going to go for that idea either.
"I don't think so buddy,” she said, shaking her head. "If anyone is going to sleep on the floor, then it's definitely going to be you."
"But I paid for the room,” he pointed out.
"I don't care,” she said. "I'm still not sleeping in that bed with you."
"So, you would sleep in another bed with me then?" he asked jokingly.
Natalia stood staring at him for a moment with her mouth wide open.
When she finally stopped gaping at him, she said "That's not what I meant, and you know it wasn't."
Yeah, he did know she didn't mean it that way, but he couldn't help himself, it was amusing seeing her reaction to his comment.
"I am not sleeping on the floor, Natalia,” he said clearly.
"Well, you're not sleeping in the bed with me, Taredd."
Taredd was so taken aback by her saying his name that he stood motionless, staring at her for a moment while he tried to think of a comeback. It was the first time since he met her that she's called him by his name.
He hadn't expected to have such a reaction, but the way his name rolled off her tongue sent blood rushing straight to his cock.
Clearing his throat... and mentally shaking his head... he finally found his voice again.
"Well, it doesn't matter what you have to say,” he told her. “It's happening that way whether you like it or not."
Taredd could tell Natalia wanted to argue with him, but she didn't. Instead, she huffed out a breath and stormed over to the bed, throwing her satchel down when she was next to it.
"Fine, but stay on your side of the bed,” she said, glaring at him over her shoulder.
"I will try my best,” he told her. "But just so you know, I do tend to fidget in my sleep."
