I blushed. “I can’t help it if I have good taste.”
“Well, you have great taste,” Annabelle whispered. “And we’ll figure things out. But we just wanted to let you know this is an option. That we’re always going to be family. We will work together. But now we can make it work for everyone.”
I looked at everybody and then held up my arms. Somehow my siblings and I were all hugging, my parents included. And then the spouses and Killian were there, and then the kids, and there was laughter, love, tears. When the doorbell rang and the first set of Denver Montgomerys began to arrive, I knew we could do this.
We were a family. Loud, larger than life.
But we had each other.
And maybe it had taken a while for me to understand that after thinking I had lost everything.
But I had everyone.
I looked over at Killian, the man I loved more than anything, and smiled.
I had Killian. Family. And a future with potential.
